For example the Numerai hedge fund's data science tournament for crowdsourced stock market prediction is giving out their expensive hedge fund quality data to their users but it's transformed enough that the users don't actually know what the data is, yet the machine learning models are still working on it. To my knowledge it's not homomorphic encryption because that would be still too computational expensive, but... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
If you are interested in the machine learning part, you can try the Numerai tournament ( http://numer.ai ). They provide obfuscated high quality hedge fund data that participants can train their models on and send back only their predictions and then they combine the user's predictions into their market neutral meta model which they actively trade. So far their fund's returns looks promising in their category... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

Company: Numerai (https://numer.ai) Position: Web Developer Location: San Francisco (Remote/On-site with WFH days) Numerai is a new kind of hedge fund powered by thousands of competing data scientists from around the world, all working to predict the stock market. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Also it seems you would enjoy the numer.ai stock prediction hedge fund tournament if you didn't already know about it. It's interesting not because of their token, and it's not about pump & dumps but because it's about providing actually useful stock predictions using machine learning models and getting rewarded for it. And you don't have to worry about the technical details of the trade execution on exchanges. So... Source: over 2 years ago
Interesting read! Have you had a look at what numer.ai is doing? You might find it interesting. Source: over 2 years ago
Wow fascinating. What do you ideally want to see in terms of datasets enabled by user data? Having vendors vacuum up my data is sub-optimal, but I'm not familiar with how to build models without giving away my data. Open source models owned by society? Numerai style training (that I don't understand) https://numer.ai/ ? - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Depends on how good it needs to be. Perhaps there's a way to create an open source training set? Like Numerai but instead of a hedge fund it's photo data: https://numer.ai/. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Https://numer.ai/ is probably more interesting (finance wise). Source: over 2 years ago

In crypto, the best quant fund is probably numer.ai , they also don't offer a public fund, yet they have hinted that they may in the future. They currently only crowdsource AI-based strategies from programmers and pay them according to their AI's performance, or penalize them if they fail. Definitely check them out, they may fail too in the long run, but as far as I know they are one of the most likely to succeed... Source: almost 3 years ago

It's a bit more complex. Our allocation mechanisms will reward accurate stakers by returning more ALOE than they staked, and innaccurate stakers will be returned less, much like the algorithmic trading competition numer.ai. Individual stakers that predict effectively will gradually have greater weight and say in the allocation and weaker stakers will gradually have less. We anticipate effective stakers to make use... I haven't seen it get much love on this sub, but I'm a big fan of NMR (https://numer.ai/). Think of it as an AI-powered hedge fund with a pool of data scientists trying to democratize access and lower the bar for entry into the finance world/stock market. The scientists compete to make the best model predicting financial markets. If they succeed, they're rewarded with a percentage of their tokens staked, and if... Source: about 3 years ago

Numerai is a pretty interesting project imo. Using tokens as rewards for correct predictions in stock market movements. It also has value movements that are pretty independent from the rest of the market. However it goes sideways usually. I hold a small bag because it's imo really interesting and isn't directly correlated with the big coins/tokens. Source: about 3 years ago
