I don't know a place close like soundcloud there. There is newgrounds.com and it has audio portal which is good enough. The site itself is oriented to cartoons and browser games. Audio portal is a side feature. It has comments, rating, DMs, forum, followers. It's different from SC, of course. Depends on what you need. Source: about 3 years ago

I started by finding out animation could be done in your own home if you had a computer and Macromedia Flash 5. I downloaded the trial and started drawing in it with a mouse. For a midwestern kid growing up in the woods, this was mind-blowing. I continued to make awful animation and upload it to newgrounds.com throughout my highschool years, and started an animation club at my highschool. Source: over 3 years ago

A very old browser game from the beginning of the Adobe Flash era, created by Tom Fulp, the founder of newgrounds.com The player controls a tiny yellow alien who crashed on Earth and after accidentally killing a child, the FBI tries to catch him. The gameplay is pretty similar to the early Nintendo and Sega games, Alien hominid is moving forward as he fights against the big bulky agents. Source: almost 4 years ago

Newgrounds.com has maintained a notable presence in the online gaming and creative community since its inception over two decades ago. As one of the pioneering platforms for user-generated content, Newgrounds has become synonymous with an era where flash animations and games dominated the landscape. Today, user sentiment around Newgrounds reflects a blend of nostalgia, appreciation, and a recognition of its evolving features amidst a changing digital environment.
Public opinion, as evidenced by various user comments, often highlights a sense of nostalgia. Many users reminisce about their early internet experiences on Newgrounds, recognizing it as a significant part of their childhood or adolescent years. The platform's role in the early development of internet culture, particularly in the realm of Flash-based games and animations, is frequently acknowledged. This historical importance contributes to its favorable regard, even among users questioning its current relevance post-Flash era.
Newgrounds has cemented its reputation as a breeding ground for creative, user-generated content. The platformโs vast repository of animations, games, and audio continues to attract both content creators and users seeking entertaining and original works. Users mention the Audio Portal as an underappreciated feature that provides a distinct edge over competitors. The platform's support for a wide range of multimedia content encourages a vibrant community of creators who value the freedom and flexibility Newgrounds offers.
Despite the decline of Flash, Newgrounds has shown resilience by adapting its platform. Users notice improvements in the user interface and appreciate efforts to maintain functionality, especially with the phasing out of Flash technology. There is an acknowledgment of these updates among users looking for alternatives to mainstream platforms like Tumblr or SoundCloud, with Newgrounds providing a viable home for specific niches, particularly in animations and user-created games.
When compared to newer platforms such as Armor Games or Kongregate, Newgrounds is often mentioned with a sense of heritage and uniqueness.
