Nawtch is a free fitness and nutrition tracker built for people who don't want to create an account just to log a meal. Everything runs entirely in your browser โ no signup, no server, no data ever leaving your device.
Your data (food logs, weight, workouts) is stored locally via IndexedDB โ never transmitted to a server, because there isn't one. Zero signup friction, no breach risk on our end, and you can export/back up anytime, on your terms.
Beyond tracking, Nawtch includes: - Calculators โ TDEE, BMR, macros, body fat %, BMI, ideal weight, one-rep max, VO2 max, and more โ each citing the actual published formula (Mifflin-St Jeor, NSCA, ACSM, and others) - Diets guide โ an evenhanded comparison of popular diets, with real citations and honest notes on where evidence is strong or weak โ no diet is ranked "best" - Guides โ clear how-to content for every feature
Free forever, every feature, no paywalls. Supported only by non-intrusive banner ads โ no popups, no interstitials, no "upgrade to unlock" prompts.

Nawtch is one of the only fitness trackers that requires zero account โ everything (food logs, weight, workouts) is stored locally in your browser via IndexedDB, never on a server. It also cites the actual published formula or study behind every calculator (Mifflin-St Jeor, NSCA, ACSM), rather than presenting numbers as unexplained black boxes. Most competitors either paywall core features or require signup before you can even try them.
If you've been frustrated by MyFitnessPal-style apps that gate barcode scanning, ad-free experiences, or basic history behind a subscription, Nawtch gives you every feature for free with no account at all โ no credit card, no email, no "free trial." It's also more transparent than most competitors about sourcing: every calculator names its formula and links the original research, and the diets guide presents evidence honestly instead of ranking one diet as "best."
People who want to track calories, macros, weight, or workouts without committing to an account or a subscription โ including privacy-conscious users who don't want their health data on a server, casual trackers who just want a quick tool without friction, and anyone who's bounced off other tracking apps due to paywalls, ads, or forced signup.
Nawtch started as a personal project after getting frustrated with existing calorie trackers that either paywalled basic features or required an account just to log a meal. It was originally built and named Foop, then renamed to Nawtch once a naming conflict with unrelated existing products was discovered. Along the way, it grew from a single-page app into a full multi-page site, and a planned three-tier paid subscription model was scrapped entirely in favor of staying free forever โ supported only by non-intrusive ads โ because that model contradicted the entire reason the app was built in the first place.
Vanilla JavaScript, HTML, and CSS โ no frontend framework. Data is stored client-side using IndexedDB (no backend or database server at all). Hosted as a static site on GitHub Pages. Barcode scanning is powered by the Open Food Facts API, called directly from the browser.
