  • Ask HN: How do you optimize your focus?
I cannot speak higher of https://mynoise.net/ It is so amazing for pink noise and all the other noises. I basically always have a tab with this up. - Source: Hacker News / 17 days ago
  • I find this helpful, but "normies" don't understand!
I use https://mynoise.net/ or sometimes a podcast, usually something like https://fallofcivilizationspodcast.com/ (lol). Source: 4 months ago
  • Sleep advice needed
    I use http://mynoise.net - there's a phone app too. Source: 5 months ago
  • Where do you do your "deep work" during your PhD?
For more routine work that isn't as deep but is still cognitively demanding, I usually stay at my desk and put on a post-rock playlist and https://mynoise.net/ on top of it (I like Irish coast), so loud that any other noise gets blocked out. I put a sign up saying not to disturb me. Source: 5 months ago
  • Spotify weighed redirecting white noise podcasts to talk content
Spotify needs to license https://mynoise.net and include their dozens of soundscapes into the Spotify client. The captured audio soundscapes are high quality, engineered, mixable audio from many relaxing and peaceful natural and artificial environments. Tossing a few million dollars towards the MyNoise people for something that's currently donor-ware would be amazing for the creators as well as opening up the... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Sound Bath/ Soundscapes to help Struggle Brain Days?
I was going to suggest mynoise.net but saw that two other people already had. You might want to check out the ReSound Relief app on either the Apple app store or the Android one. It's meant for tinnitus sufferers, but some of the musical and water-based options can be very helpful for meditation and chilling out. Source: 8 months ago
  • Marijuana Addiction Is Real. Those Struggling Often Face Skepticism
I had a crappy college dorm with morning birds, not all night birds. If you can't do a truly quiet room, I've found either an AC or fan can mask most noises effectively (I can still feel cars idling outside, or hear people yelling). Also see https://mynoise.net/ which has a panoply of sound-generation options. I have spent hours trying various noises. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • What is the coolest web app you've discovered that's free with no signup?
MyNoise is and incredible background sound generator. Source: 9 months ago
  • Soothing Music with Rain Sounds for ADHD Students
Https://mynoise.net/ is a lifesaver, I'd donate if I had any money. Source: 9 months ago
  • I have a new neighbour and they're a dubstep fan
Is there any noise you do enjoy (or easily tolerate) in the background? If so you could keep that playing through the night. It shouldn't have to be too loud in order to drown out faint TV sounds. I'm quite fond of white noise or water sounds for this purpose. This site is full of noises to try out if you'd like. • Request: comfort song suggestion for someone who is tired to go to sleep and eat and is seeing shadow creatures and shadow people and turned into a heartless selfish empty shell that is aching, something that is.. calm, like Mazzy Star - Fade into you, but anything, I love trap music too, lil peep
I like MyNoise for being able to customize a soothing sound scape. Source: 10 months ago
  • What is a purchase under $50 you made that has totally changed your life for the better?
As a lover of several great 'white noise' apps/programs (mynoise.net, pzizz) I thought a Calm subscription was a bit of a rip off. I'm not into meditation or anything overly new age-y. So I don't even use the majority of the app's services! But those Calm sleep stories are freaking brilliant. I've never made it to the end of one in almost two straight years of going to bed. And if I ever run into Alan Sklar (a... Source: 10 months ago
  • Disappointed with ANC - is this normal?
Https://mynoise.net/ is one of the best tools out there, IMHO - totally free, very customizable, even has a phone app. Source: 10 months ago
  • Are there alternatives to a daily walk, for druids with disabilities?
If you want just the sound for meditation or such I LOVE myNoise.net. It’s super customizable and can even be “flexible” there’s a few forest ones, one is a walk with a pair or two of foot steps. They’ve added a lot lately and I haven’t used them in a minute so I’m not sure what all they have now. Source: 10 months ago
  • Do you have any tips for sleeping where it's noisy?
I also use and swear by the services of https://mynoise.net/ for their variety of background sounds. Source: 10 months ago

  • How to deal with being a light sleeper
I use the app for mynoise.net on my phone and I love it so much. There are a ton of different soundscapes that are all super customizable. "Rain on a tent" is my favorite for sleeping these days. Source: 10 months ago
