Glad you like my software! A long time ago, I had some RSI issues that were alleviated by using the Magic Trackpad, and this led me to create the Multitouch app[0] to add a bit more functionality to the Magic Trackpad. From there I wanted to add in window management, and ended up rewriting Spectacle as Rectangle. I feel really lucky to have people enjoying the things I've built! But realistically tho, I'm a trackpad person. Multitouch is a life-changing app. Source: over 1 year ago
A simpler alternative to BetterTouchTool. It allows you to customize actions for various gestures, touches and swipes. Like BTT, it has a built-in window manager. Site: https://multitouch.app/ Price: $16 Source code: not available. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
Try Multitouch. I made it first, then made Middle because a lot of people were using Multitouch for just the middle click. You can configure a gesture multiple times, then restrict each instance to a specific app. Source: over 1 year ago
No, Hyperkey is a single-purpose app for remapping to the hyper key. For general key remapping, you would probably want something like Karabiner Elements. Alternatively, you could try my other app, Multitouch, which should do what you want but is paid. Source: over 1 year ago
MultiTouchTool - I use it for a) opening links in a new tab using a trackpad shortcut (three finger click a link opens it in a new tab) and b) window management, snapping to sides and shortcuts to go fullscreen. Source: about 2 years ago
If you like Rectangle and also use BetterTouchTool for "simple" things, you can get rid of both and use Multitouch (by Rectangle's dev) instead. An app that combines same window management and some gesture/click/shortcuts features. 30 days of free trial. Bought it instantly and no regrets. Source: about 2 years ago
Maybe you can create an AppleScript or other automated task for this and assign it to a shortcut (I use https://multitouch.app/ for creating shortcuts) for easier access! Source: about 2 years ago
How do you set up the 3 finger click? Is that what the other comment said about multitouch.app or is there a macos native way to do it? thanks. Source: about 2 years ago

He also mentions another app he made “multitouch”, which is exactly the jitouch replacement I’ve been dying for! Source: over 2 years ago
I’m the developer of Multitouch (https://multitouch.app), which has a much smaller feature set than BTT. I created it because I just didn’t need all of the features in BTT and at BTT was really unreliable for me. The Multitouch license is lifetime. Source: over 2 years ago
My other app, Multitouch, is effectively a competitor to BTT (although I didn't set out to make a competitor to it originally). Middle exists because I had a lot of users purchasing Multitouch and only using it for the middle click - so Middle is a cheaper option with just this functionality. Source: almost 3 years ago
That fork has similarly been discontinued - it has its own forks but none looked promising. It recommends using Multitouch, which claims to be up to date, but costs $14.99 after a trial. Source: almost 3 years ago
You can do middle click on magic mouse and trackpad. There are probably couple apps out there but one that's super clean is Middleclick or the more functionality and pricey — Multitouch from the same developer. Source: about 3 years ago
The first app I created was Multitouch, and although I never intended for it to directly compete with BetterTouchTool, I did want it to have native window management capability (which is included in BTT) so that windows could be controlled with gestures. In order to add this functionality, I ended up with the decision to rewrite Spectacle in Swift to properly include it in Multitouch. Hence the creation of... Source: about 3 years ago
