Just checked your Monogatari app. That's incredible work and is completely open-source! Amazing Now I'm thinking, maybe adding new features to already-made projects is a better idea, than reinventing the wheel. Source: about 2 years ago
I actually started this current project with Monogatari, a Javascript engine! That way players wouldn't need to install the game and could run it from anywhere. It was also easy to tweak the game using good ol' CSS. But more and more I found that the features I had to manually write in Monogatari were already built-in with Ren'py. Why reinvent the wheel? So I switched. Source: about 2 years ago
Raw Electron, sure. But there’s some good libraries for this. For example https://monogatari.io is pretty easy to use. I haven’t used it in electron per se, but it works ok in a browser and seems to support electron. (YMMV of course). Source: over 2 years ago
Programmers need to start coding asap. For coding , students can try using Renpy (https://www.renpy.org/) or Monogatari (https://monogatari.io/). Students can use first day to play with both and decide on the tool that they are comfortable with. After that they should focus on building a skeleton game and keep adding assets and dialogues and make it better. Source: about 3 years ago
