I tried https://mobirise.com and the results look great (things like video backgrounds with overlays etc), but you have to pay through the nose to actually use most of it and I only want to play around. Source: about 3 years ago
Do you have all the text done that would go on the site? You can create it yourself with simple drag and drop tools and have it up within hours on a self hosted service. A tool Iโd recommend is Mobirise (https://mobirise.com/). Source: about 3 years ago
I found something called Mobirise which seems to tick all my boxes. It definitely runs offline (it's a Windows executable and I disabled wi-fi to confirm) and exports my site locally as HTML as well as publishing direct to my domain, so that's good. It looks okay so far and hasn't been too hard for me to deal with. I'll stick with this for now, I think. Source: over 3 years ago

Hi all! I've been searching for a pirated copy of Mobirise. It's a WYSIWYG kind of a website builder. I've been searching for it for a long time but couldn't find it, except for a severely outdated version from more than 2 years ago. Does anyone know how to obtain it? Source: over 5 years ago
Mobirise is receiving varied feedback from users, albeit with a noticeable emphasis on its accessibility and ease of use as a no-code website builder. Positioned in the competitive landscape of CMS and website design tools, Mobirise competes with established players such as Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, and WordPress, among others. The feedback can largely be categorized into the tool's strengths and limitations.
1. Ease of Use and Accessibility: Mobirise is applauded for its user-friendly interface, particularly highlighted by its drag-and-drop functionality. This makes it an attractive option for users with little to no coding expertise, facilitating rapid development and deployment of websites. The ability to create mobile-ready pages through a straightforward process makes it quite appealing, especially for those in the creative fields who wish to showcase their work online.
2. Offline Capabilities: Another notable advantage is Mobirise's capability to function offline. Many users appreciate the ability to download the software and work independently of internet connectivity, being able to export sites as HTML and directly publish them to their domains.
3. Initial Free Offerings: The core functionality of Mobirise is available for free, which provides a compelling value proposition for small businesses and individuals looking to establish an online presence without incurring initial costs.
1. Cost of Premium Features: Although Mobirise offers a free tier, there is notable criticism regarding the costs associated with accessing premium features. Users have expressed dissatisfaction over having to pay for more advanced features or "frills," which they initially perceived to be more accessible.
2. Limited Flexibility Compared to Competitors: Despite its ease of use, Mobirise may not offer the same level of customization and flexibility as some of its competitors like Webflow or WordPress. The reliance on pre-built themes and blocks can be restrictive for users seeking extensive customization.
3. Association with Piracy Requests: An unfortunate aspect of Mobirise's perception is its association with searches for pirated versions. This suggests a demand for the tool without incurring costs, possibly stemming from dissatisfaction with the premium pricing model or limitations of the free version.
Overall, Mobirise is seen as an efficient tool for newcomers, small projects, and those in the creative industry needing an easy, no-code solution for web development. The ongoing conversation around its pricing model, however, suggests an area for the company to reconsider or enhance, perhaps offering more competitive expansions or further developing features within the free version. As the website builder ecosystem evolves, Mobirise's potential will greatly depend on how well it adapts to consumer needs and expectations amidst strong competition.
