  • Roblox Is Already the Biggest Game in the World. Why Can't It Make a Profit?
First off, it's generally a good idea not to port-forward your own home router outside of defaults (Even if it's just 25565; I created a nightmare scenario for the ISP guy back at my parent's house when I was around 13 doing this). There's tons of options to host servers in the cloud with near absolute control. I used to use a SaaS company called Minehut (https://app.minehut.com/) before I got into cloud computing... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • How to create a server (Java)
On the newest version of minecraft, open it, click multiplayer, then click "add server", then type "minehut.com" in the server address. Then, click done and then click the server you just created. Once your in, click the compass and then click the oak sign "Create Server". This will create your own server with /op. Make sure you remember the name of it so you can use /join [name] to join it back. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Is it possible to join a random world with online strangers in Java version?
Do you mean like Omegle in Minecraft? If so, I don't know how, but there is a way on certain server hosting things to join their main "hub" server and from there join a random server hosted with that server hosting thing. One I know of is Minehut. There are videos of people doing just that--search up "joining random people's minecraft servers" or similar. Source: over 3 years ago
  • How can I play survival with a friend?
What device did you get minecraft on? If your on windows did you buy the Windows 10 Edition or the Java Edition. If you bought java edition (windows, Mac, and Linux) probably the best way is to use something like Minehut. If you bought a different version (Windows 10 Edition, mobile, console) then I can't help you. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Linking server to minehut.com
I already made a server in-game on minehut server and was wondering how to link it to minehut.com to use their tools. Source: over 3 years ago
  • [NA] [PC] Looking for other streamer friends OR people who dont mind being on stream!
I think I can find some free severs at https://minehut.com and https://aternos.org/go/ but ill have to do more research into it. In the mean time what mods would you use? I know I wanna try Minecraft comes alive. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Needing Java assistance
Like the other comment said, a realm could be what you want. I personally have used a https://minehut.com server before which is fairly easy to set up. Here is a guide for that https://www.montrealfamilies.ca/how-to-set-up-a-free-minecraft-server/. Source: over 3 years ago
  • the website won't load
The website is stuck on the spinning diamond symbol, and stays on that without fixing. I can't even login to try and ask for help on the forums because the login button redirects you to minehut.com. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • [Question] Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but how much RAM is required for a Paper 1.16.5 server with ~30 plugins but only having 0 to 3 players online simultaneously most of the time?
Minehut could work https://minehut.com/ Their free plan 10 player slots. Source: about 4 years ago
  • How do i let someone else on the Internet play on my Minecraft server?
If you are playing Java Edition there's a lot of providers like minehut or artenos which allow you to setup a server for free. Source: about 4 years ago
  • free modded server hosting [java]
Aternos is good like many other people have already said, but I also find that minehut.com is great for easy and simple free server hosting, and might be able to work with mods if you find out how! Source: about 4 years ago
  • Minecraft Idle Game Server (made by me)
Minehut.com boom, here you go three thousand gen servers. Source: over 4 years ago
  • What gaming hill are you willing to die on?
For hosting a server for free I recommend Aternos https://aternos.org/:en/ or https://minehut.com There are plenty of paid server hosting sites. Source: over 4 years ago
  • Looking for Server Host
For crossplay, I would recommend Minehut. Their servers are automatically crossplay, though I believe the Bedrock/Windows 10 users will have to join the main server (IP: minehut.com) and then type /join servername. Just make sure for privacy you set Visibility to Not Visible. Aternos is another good option, however, I don't have any experience with them regarding crossplay. Source: over 4 years ago
  • Virtual party in MineCraft?
You could start your own minecract server, some websites like minehut.com offer these for free. The servers contain standard worlds, so if you want to play an escape room, you can download a world file that has a pre-built escape room in it, but you will have to import that world file into your server. There are detailed tutorials for that on youtube. If you need any more info let me know, I dont know everything... Source: over 4 years ago
  • Where to Host your Minecraft Server
OVH (soyoustart and kimsufi are owned by UVH and are cheaper) Minehut aternos. Source: over 4 years ago
  • Screw Mojang and whoever else is in charge of this poor service
I agree that bedrock realms is screwed as hell rn, I'd suggest just using either aternos or minehut as they're both popular free server hosters that work on all minecraft platforms, please note that these are meant to be used for smps and possibly with a few mods, these aren't meant to be abused with massive amounts of additions. • Any solutions for bypassing CGNAT?
Minecraft servers are interesting. There are actually some free providers that are decent. The limitations are normally that someone has to be on it for it to stay online or what-not. There's Aternos and Minehut for example. Minecraft servers are pretty cheap though and most have nice control panels for easy mod installation. Source: over 4 years ago
  • Help! Me and my friends are trying to make a server on Minecraft bedrock, how do I make a server?
You dont need to download anything. Create a server at minehut.com. It way better and your friends can also start up the server when your not online. It even supports mods. Source: almost 5 years ago
  • Reccommend me mcpe host 24/7 online under 5 usd
1 free option is Minehut (although the server closes 5 minutes after nobody is online, players can start the servers from the Minehut Minecraft server). Source: almost 5 years ago
  • Looking for people to play with on Java or Bedrock
Https://minehut.com (fast but only uses plugins, no mods and requires email to make an account). Source: almost 5 years ago

Summary of the public mentions of Minehut

Public Opinion on Minehut: An Overview

Minehut, a cloud-based platform, has garnered a spectrum of opinions from its user base regarding its service in hosting Minecraft servers. Recognized for offering a free and user-friendly experience, Minehut appeals particularly to casual and younger audiences. Its competitive edge lies in presenting a budget-friendly alternative to players who want to create personalized server experiences without incurring substantial costs.

Strengths of Minehut

  1. Ease of Use: One of the standout features frequently mentioned is Minehut's simplicity in server creation and management. Users appreciate being able to create and operate a server without the need for intricate configurations. This is particularly highlighted in discussions around setting up a Minecraft server with just a few clicks, rendering it accessible to users with limited technical expertise.

  2. Cost-Effectiveness: Minehut capitalizes on a unique market position by offering free server hosting, which significantly lowers the barrier to entry for hobbyists and casual players. Users consistently mention Minehut's affordability as a major advantage, with many comparing it favorably against paid alternatives.

  3. Community and Flexibility: Its ability to support both Java and crossplay between bedrock and Java versions expands its user reach, offering flexibility that users value. Additionally, Minehut's community hub feature, which allows users to join random servers, adds a social and exploratory dimension, often likened to platforms like Omegle in Minecraft.

Challenges and Criticisms

  1. Performance Limitations: A recurring issue raised by users is the limitation on performance. While Minehut hosts up to 10 players for free, servers may face performance hiccups under heavier loads or intricate customizations. Lag and temporary downtimes due to server inactivity are not uncommon, and can impact the overall gaming experience.

  2. Modding Restrictions: Some users express dissatisfaction with limitations regarding mod support, as Minehut predominantly supports plugins rather than full mod integration. This limitation can be a significant drawback for users seeking to create heavily modded server experiences.

  3. Technical Issues: Users have reported occasional technical issues, such as difficulties with the platform's website interface, notably the login process, which at times gets stuck at loading screens. These technical hurdles can impede the user experience, especially for those attempting to manage their servers on the go.

  4. Service Reliability: While Minehut provides a practical hosting solution, user comments occasionally note about stability and uptime concerns. The necessity for servers to have active players for them to stay online can be an inconvenience for some users seeking uninterrupted availability.

Conclusion

Overall, Minehut occupies a valuable niche in the market, offering an innovative and accessible platform for hosting Minecraft servers. Its emphasis on ease, affordability, and community-building makes it especially appealing to a younger and less technically inclined audience. However, for more demanding users or those requiring broader mod capabilities, Minehut's limitations may necessitate seeking alternatives or considering premium hosting solutions. The ongoing evolution of Minehut's service offerings will be crucial in maintaining and expanding its user base in a competitive environment driven by constant technological advancements and player expectations.
