But because the operating system only uses microG to re-implement some Google services, a very uncommon error gets thrown, which won't get caught, because there aren't many Android devices without Google services out there.   The Android OS itself is open source so anyone can use it. But you need to pay Google to have everything related to it on your Android phone, like Gmail, Maps, Drive etc. You can have a Google-less Android system like the HarmonyOS where everything is replicated sans Google.   Root your phone, install a privacy-focused ROM like LineageOS or /e/ or GrapheneOS and don't install Google Play Services. Also install AdAway(ad blocker) and NetGuard(firewall). Block everything in NetGuard by default and only allow apps you trust. For apps, only use open-source ones from F-Droid. If you absolutely need apps that require Google Play Services, install MicroG.
