MASV - https://massive.io/ does up to 15TB per file and has a desktop app, but it's expensive. Source: about 3 years ago
Https://massive.io you pay by the GB downloaded. Worth it. But you both need fast internet. Source: about 3 years ago
I've been using Massive for a while now to transfer HUGE uncompressed 8k+ files back and forth between clients. I've gotten great results with it, and find the cost to be quite reasonable. Source: about 3 years ago
We have been using massive.io for a while now. And our partners have gotten used to how smooth the process is. Source: about 3 years ago
Iโve worked with both and Media Shuttle works the same way. You may also be interested in MASV, which charges by data usage rather than users. Source: over 3 years ago
I consider about... We Transfer or MASSIVE(https://massive.io/) or File Mail. Source: over 3 years ago
Not sure what that is, but I use https://massive.io/ for large file transfers and have never run into issues like that before! Source: over 3 years ago
#1 https://massive.io while pricey per gb ($0.25/GB), you get the first 150GB free, so you'd be paying about $35 for the file transfer. Would be the least amount of effort of any of those scenarios, no real special tools required. Could even drag and drop the folder into the browser. #2 would be portable hard drive. 300gb of video isn't enough to justify any syncing tools. Just drag and drop. #3 rclone to... - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
Large Files Transfers, you say? Not going to lie, it's kind of our specialty. MASV (massive.io) is a great option for your file transfer needs. If you haven't used us before, you can sign up and get a 100 GB free trial. Source: over 3 years ago
Https://massive.io/ is pretty damn affordable for sending large amounts of data if you're happy uploading somewhere. Source: over 3 years ago
We had this issue several years ago and came upon Massive.io as our "Aspera-like" solution too. It's similar to WeTransfer in look and feel if you're familiar with that. We used it for delivery of files to our Vantage system for remote editors using S3 as well as for raw capture delivery for post. Source: almost 4 years ago
I've found massive.io to be great at larger file transfers. Source: almost 4 years ago
Sending an external hard drive is the mail is likely the most cost effective and foolproof route. If you need to do it via the internet, MASV is a nice option. https://massive.io/. Source: almost 4 years ago
The great thing with MASV is during your trial period you can get 100GB for free, plus it is pay-as-you-go, so you don't have to commit to a subscription. https://massive.io/. Source: about 4 years ago
Dropbox is fine for small files, but the upload speed and stability is a real issue when you're uploading large files. For those, I either use https://massive.io/ or FedEx, depending on size of file and urgency of delivery. If you've got to deliver multiple terabytes at a time, don't underestimate an SSD sent Next Day Priority. Source: over 4 years ago
Take a look at MASV. It is pay-as-you-go so you don't need to commit to a full subscription. Source: over 4 years ago
Setup your own MASV account. Create a portal for them to upload to (they don't need an account, just the link to the portal). On your end, via the MASV app, enable automation and whenever they upload something to the portal, you'll get an email PLUS it will automatically download to wherever you set in the automation (provided the MASV app is running on your computer). MASV: MASV is the most efficient and reliable tool for videographers and artists to share files that are time-sensitive with customers. Speed is very important when it comes to sharing files larger than a hundred GB. - Source: dev.to / over 4 years ago
For an easy solution for clients to upload files, you'll want MASV. Really easy, just send a link and client drags and drops files, folders, etc. You get notified. Source: over 4 years ago
Instead of sending hard drives, I've used https://massive.io/ .25/GB which adds up, but it beats time & shipping costs thats for sure. Source: over 4 years ago
Bit of context: I work in film post-production and our company uses a metric ton of Massive.io to facilitate receiving large quantities of large files (we receive 2-5TB of data via our massive.io portals every month). It is however a very expensive way of doing things 250$/1TB!, given that naked object storage can be had for as little at 6$/1TB (wasabi). Unfortunately, most of our contributors are not tech savy... MASV, a provider specializing in large file transfers, has garnered mixed feedback from users across various industries, primarily due to its pricing structure and functionality. Positioned against competitors like WeTransfer, PreFiles.com, and MediaFire, MASV distinguishes itself by offering features aimed at simplifying the process of transferring massive amounts of data securely and efficiently.
One of the most notable advantages of MASV is its capability to handle extraordinarily large files, up to 15TB per file, making it an attractive option for professionals dealing with high-resolution media filesโsuch as videographers and those in post-production. Users frequently highlight its simplicity, with many praising the platform's browser-based drag-and-drop functionality that requires minimal technical knowledge from contributors, thereby mitigating the need for additional software installations.
MASV is lauded for its comprehensive security measures, including encryption of files both in transit and at rest, alongside offering password protection. Its integration capabilities with cloud storage services such as Amazon S3 further enhance its utility for businesses looking to streamline data storage and sharing processes.
The serviceโs user-friendly interface and functionality, like sending notification emails for download tracking and offering automation for client uploads, provide significant operational efficiencies. For example, the ability to create portals allowing client uploads without requiring them to have a MASV account itself is highly valued, helping users maintain a seamless data exchange without the complexities often associated with large file transfers.
However, pricing is a recurrent theme in user discussions. MASV operates a pay-as-you-go model, charging $0.25 per GB downloaded, which some find economically burdensome for extensive file transfers. While it offers a 100GB free trial, repeated mentions of its costliness are evident, particularly when users consider alternatives such as object storage solutions which present a radically cheaper option. Despite this, several users argue that the cost is justified given the convenience and reliability MASV provides compared to traditional methods like mailing physical drives.
Overall, public opinion on MASV tends to lean favorably in terms of functionality and ease of use, especially for professionals who regularly handle large datasets. However, its pricing model remains a contentious point. While some users accept the charges as a trade-off for robust security and hassle-free operation, others consider MASV an expensive choice, prompting them to weigh other file transfer solutions or storage strategies. As MASV continues to cater to a niche requiring effortless movement of significant data volumes, its efficacy and straightforward user experience are clear selling points, though the price penance may not suit everyone's budget.
