The original idea was to make it searchable by both Marvel and DC characters but DC doesn't seem to have an official public API while Marvel does, so that will have to do for this project. The marvel api is pretty straightforward from what I hear. Also if you’re into MtG there’s scryfall’s api. And if you’re interested in something a bit less entertainment focused there’s always Twitter, which sounds like a joke but (sadly, perhaps) it is not. Source: over 1 year ago
