The original idea was to make it searchable by both Marvel and DC characters but DC doesn't seem to have an official public API while Marvel does, so that will have to do for this project. Cool. Still nobody cares. You still need to research the topic to get started. Like searching "avengers" on marvel.com gives you 2000 results for comics. Movies are way simpler. So let's say I want to read what marvel made into movies, where do I even began? Is there an order? A timeline? How many omnibuses will I need to buy? Source: about 3 years ago

  • Dark X-Men #1 By Steve Foxe and Jonas Scharf (Coming August 16th)
I just read the marvel.com writeup and they mention Carmen from Children of the Atom there, so I assume Gambit is there for the Carmen plotline given that Carmen used to dress up as Gambit before she realized she was actually a mutant. Source: over 3 years ago

  • I made a tool that turns a list of comics issues into a document with links to Marvel Unlimited
โ€‹Then it searches for each issue (via DuckDuckGo) one by one on marvel.com, finds what's called the digital comics ID thing, makes a link out of it, and then generates a little HTML document out of it -- you can see it in action on the Github page. The links open the app straight to the issue and opens the issue, whether in the app or on the Marvel Unlimited site. Source: over 3 years ago

  • App only works with mobile data and not wifi?
I've had odd issues with my router over the years where some sites/apps work completely fine, then others won't load at all. I remember like 2 years ago having connection issues both the MU app and just trying to access marvel.com through a browser. I thought that Marvel was having issue since I could connect to every other website I tried, but then I tried from my phone with WIFI off and both the app and website... Source: over 3 years ago
  • Trying to resubscribe to MU on the website to use the discount code but it doesnโ€™t let u sign in and then go onto the page to buy a new subscription, what happens if i just pay here? It wonโ€™t automatically apply to the account thatโ€™s been used on this bank card will it?
I did this a few days ago. I went on to resubscribe and clicked the button and it brought me to a payment page before the sign in page. I went ahead and did it this way and it applied to the correct account. If you want to make sure you do it correctly though this is what I would do. Go to the main site and login. Once you login go to your account, manage subscription and then do it there. Hope that helps. Source: over 3 years ago

But the icing is that I had forgotten to turn it off. I expect I had implemented it as a CRON (which should be CHRON) job, so it just happily ran in the background. About 6 months after the contest ended, I got a polite email -- I forget if it was from a marvel.com address -- that just said, "Hey, the contest is over, so could you please stop sending your emails." I turned it off right away and sent a brief... Source: over 3 years ago
