It is based on mapy.cz [1] - Outdoor layer. It is mostly OSM based (plus lot of their own data for Czechia and Slovakia). Mapy.cz belongs to same guy, who runs Windy (Ivo Lukačovič [2]). IMHO it is best readable map on the internet and when I am used to it, I cant find anything on Google Maps. [1] https://en.mapy.cz. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
As many people pointed out, those are hiking marks. What I didn't see anyone mention is that when you go on en.mapy.cz you can turn on "outdoor map" with all the hiking trails. The colour of the trail in map matches their specific colour on the tree/pole etc... Great way to plan your trip! Source: 10 months ago
You don't have to worry about unsafe places or anything like that - just be careful about tourists traps in Prague - use only ATMs from proper banks, try to avoid small corner shops in the city center as they are overpriced etc. Check honest guide prague on youtube for more information. Use this website for public transport https://idos.idnes.cz/en/vlakyautobusymhdvse/spojeni/ you can find all possible connections... Source: 11 months ago
Btw. https://en.mapy.cz/ with outdoor layer are much better then google maps. Source: 11 months ago
You can use a service like en.mapy.cz to display it. If you enter "Schutzdach" or "Tourist shelter" there, you should get a pretty comprehensive map of locations. Source: 12 months ago
There are also commercial map applications that are based on OpenStreetMaps data such as https://en.mapy.cz and even in their application you can download a map for offline use on your smartphone. For example, here is the link for the lighthouse location https://en.mapy.cz/s/cebecodaba . Source: about 1 year ago
Mapy.cz are superior to Google Maps in a lot of aspects. Reviews for stores, restaurants and searching for them tends to be better on Google Maps, but for actual navigation, mapy.cz are often way better, especially the outdoor map if you want to go into nature. Source: over 1 year ago
Look at results on https://en.mapy.cz/ for example... Source: over 1 year ago
If you like nature I can recommend all the national parks. Its all mountains, lakes, rivers, beatiful forests etc. - google Šumava, Krkonoše, Jeseníky, Beskydy, České Švýcarsko, Broumovsko. They are in different parts but Czech Republic is small and if you are travelling by car its not really an issue (you can get from Prague to Ostrava which is on opposite side of Czech Republic in +- 4 hours). Interesting cities... Source: over 1 year ago
Https://en.mapy.cz/ Map of hiking trails, works offline, but you need to download the maps (Slovakia is around 1 GB?). Source: over 1 year ago
Mapy.cz (web and app) has option to show satelite images. It's commercial app but it used OSM data. https://en.mapy.cz/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
You can find the route at mapy.cz. You will see if there are some possibilites out of roads. Source: over 1 year ago
Living in Brno, I've had lots of success with mapy.cz (en.mapy.cz for English) but IDOS is also recommended. Mapy can be used online or an app downloaded. Source: over 1 year ago
You might want to go to https://en.mapy.cz instead of the link above. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
Hey, don´t get a mountain bike than. There are flats for 15km at least in every direction. Definitely think about a cx/gravel bike - especially in the fields, there are plenty of paths with densely packed gravel/dirt which might not be ideal for road bike, but are just fine with wider tires. So unless you just really enjoy road cycling without a compromise, look into that. You can also check en.mapy.cz - paths... Source: almost 2 years ago
Check it yourself. Click on Outdoor layer and zoom in until you see network of red, green, blue and yellow trails. Source: almost 2 years ago
Basically yes. Its mapy.cz. Based on openstreet, just with some changes by czech company Seznam.cz. I really like their Outdoor map, it clearly shows tourist paths, which is something I dont think OpenStreet can do that nicely. Source: about 2 years ago
Flopp.net and Mapy are some good map tools. Flopp offers some gold tools like circles around coords and coordinate projection. Mapy has a really precise topgraphical and hiking map. Source: about 2 years ago
Mapy.cz (also based on Open Street Map, with a very useful Android app, especially for hiking in Europe). - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
En.mapy.cz (pick the outdoor map layer) the best map app with all the trails and contour lines etc. Source: over 2 years ago
I (in central Europe) use https://en.mapy.cz/ (switch to Outdoor) and their Android app. Source: over 2 years ago
