  • Downloading Entire Map and Splitting Into 1KM x 1KM PNGs
Maybe Maperitive? I didn't use it much, but you can load PBF or OSM files for the map, define rules for rendering only what you need, and export the result as an image. Source: 10 months ago
  • I made this map of Berlin for a friend in France who was born in Berlin
It's really cool how easy this has gotten thanks to openstreetmaps. I use maperitive to make my maps. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Generate Gcode form complex SVG
If you're wanting to go deeper into custom maps, QGIS and Maperitive are great tools for this! Source: about 1 year ago
  • What are some linux utilities/tools/apps you would want to have, that don't exist and think would be really useful.
I could also use a Linux tool like Maperitive (maperitive.net) to select certain features (roads, parks, ...) from the Openstreetmap using a GPS coordinate and a range. With optional conversion to png or svg? Source: over 1 year ago
  • BEGINNER: How do i color maps roads / change the style etc
You could maybe give http://maperitive.net/ a go. With that you can create images with your own styles. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Using react-leaflet offline.
Till I find an application called Maperitive app, I downloaded the application and started to import the file into the application but please be noted that you will have to change the file extension to map.osm. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
  • Why are maps so hard to make?
I have done this previously using http://maperitive.net/ to download OpenStreetMap data and exporting roads as SVG or AI, then using Illustrator or Inkscape to clean up and print. Maperitive is a bit clumsy and hasn't been updated for years at this point, I think, but it's free and worked well for my purpose (which sounds like exactly what you're trying to do). - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Mount Fuji - 2h55 to print
I'm using Maperitive to generate a 3D model of the mountain. Then use Blender to compress the file and load it into a three.js scene (WebGL). Finally I export the scene into an SVG and import that in Inkscape. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Somewhere in the Alps...
I'm using Maperitive to export the contour lines of a specific region. It's quite straightforward, you define a region you want to generate, and you export the lines as an SVG file :). Source: about 2 years ago
