  • Yozora: Linux Configurator
At some point all of us wanted to have a fully customized and flexible Linux configuration, not having a pre-configured system like Manjaro for example. There must be people out there, who are not a big fans of DE (Desktop Environments). Sure I also got into the arch world with Plasma's KDE, but after a while, it become dull, so that's when I started getting into configuring my setup, but when I had to do it every... - Source: dev.to / about 1 month ago
  • what machines have you used for development, and what do you prefer?
I use MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid-2014) with Manjaro as OS using i3 as a window manager. It isn't perfect, but I'm thrilled with it. I have been a Mac OS user for the last 15 years and wouldn't change what I have now for a Mac OS because I don't need more than what I'm using for development. Source: 10 months ago
  • Can I rigg a Chromebook to install Linux on it? Not the virtual Linux they have an option for, I want to replace Chrome OS entirely with Linux.
At any rate, you can try Breath, Crouton, Manjaro... Those are three of the distros people have found success with. It all boils down to the specific hardware involved... Which we know nothing about since you kept that to yourself. Source: 11 months ago
  • Windows updated 8 hours into a print. I’m gonna cry.

  • [root@archlinux ~]# after login
But if you were expecting to be able to complete the install and have a GUI available, you might be better off starting with something like Manjaro: Https://manjaro.org. Source: 11 months ago

  • Need help to fix hardbrick on Razer phone 2
I get good results booting my PC from a USB thumb drive into Manjaro Linux. The Windows adb/fastboot drivers can be fickle. Source: 12 months ago
  • Every fifth Linux gamer plays on Steam Deck!
If you like SteamOS and want something like it on desktop, though, I'd look for something with the same base/underlying system (Arch Linux) and the same desktop environment as the Deck's desktop mode (KDE/Plasma). My favorite is Manjaro in my desktops/laptops. This'll be very much like the Deck's desktop mode without the gaming mode (though Steam's Big Picture mode is basically the same interface now). Or if... Source: 12 months ago
  • How do I remove this Ubuntu Pro ad from apt?
Yeah but manjaro.org may be a greener alternative. Source: 12 months ago
  • Arch for science
I'm assuming that you know your way around Arch (reading the wiki, using pacman. etc). If you're not, you may install Manjaro orEndeavourOS (the latter uses the Arch repos directly if that's what you need). Be mindful that if you install something other than vanilla Arch, you'll need to go to their official channels (i.e. Not here) for support. Source: about 1 year ago

Don't know about Caps Lock but here are a couple of links: Https://manjaro.org/ Https://wiki.galliumos.org/Media_keys_and_default_keybindings. Source: about 1 year ago

I use https://manjaro.org/ on my laptop. It runs stable out of the box, is clean and easy to use. I am using it for like 4years as my day to day system. I came from Ubuntu had not problems to switch. It is arch Linux without pain. Source: about 1 year ago

  • SteamOS viable for HTPC?
PS: As u/KugelKurt says, Manjaro is pretty good as well. Possibly also Pop!OS by the System76 guys (they do Linux-friendly laptops). Source: about 1 year ago
  • What's your current experience with WSL?
Ubuntu is the gold standard for generic starter distro. I use Fedora, which provides a stock but modern Linux distro (systemd, pipewire, Gnome, etc) and with slightly newer package versions tan Ubuntu. Others eventually get into Mint, Manjaro, or Arch. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Connecting mouse causes connected bluetooth earbuds to lag
As a quickcheck you could boot a Manjarro (https://manjaro.org/) Live system and see how that behaves. It should come with Linux 6.1 as far as I understand their recent announcement. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Want to move to linux
Manjaro, for all the bad things people say about it, is fine (the same can't be said of their management, but as far as end-user goes, they're fine). They have implemented btrfs auto-snapshot, which creates an economic snapshot of your main system every time you install/uninstall/update something, making things less risky -- the only other Arch-based distro that uses it that I know of is Garuda Linux, which has a...
