The expected changes are: - https://github.com/lxc/lxd will now become https://github.com/canonical/lxd - https://linuxcontainers.org/lxd will disappear and be replaced with a mention directing users to https://ubuntu.com/lxd - The LXD YouTube channel will be handed over to the Canonical team - The LXD section on the LinuxContainers community forum will slowly Be sunset in favor of the Ubuntu Discourse forum... • LXC images download
Hello community, It seems LXC images for arm7l/armhf are no longer available, not from the official Turris mirror nor from LinuxContainers.org (https://linuxcontainers.org/lxd/). Any solution or alternative for people like me heavily relying on the Turris Omnia to run LXC containers? Thanks. Source: 10 months ago

LXD is a toolkit that builds on top of LXC to provide more advanced management capabilities. It provides its own set of commands through the "lxc" executable (this is the confusing part), e.g. Lxc list returns a list of all containers. In newer versions, LXD can also manage QEMU virtual machines. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Netsoc - a "mini cloud" for university students
Our flagship service is something we like to call "webspaces", which are basically LXD containers. We've developed a custom stack around LXD that essentially allows for the creation of a pseudo-public cloud. Every member of Netsoc is entitled to their own container with 4 vCPUs and 4 GiB of RAM. Our main Traefik load balancer will proxy HTTP(S) traffic to .netsoc.ie and provide automatic TLS, including on optional... Source: over 2 years ago
  • To VM or direct ubuntu server?
If you want to look at an alternative, you could look into LXD, Ubuntu (Canonical's) container management layer: https://linuxcontainers.org/lxd/. Source: about 3 years ago
