Https://listenbrainz.org/ or last.fm are better if you actually want to track these things. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
Https://listenbrainz.org/ is an open source scrobbler, with the advantage that it leverages the musicbrainz database and connects listens to artist and track IDs instead of names, avoiding duplicate confusion. You can keep last.fm and submit to both of you like. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
For people moving off Spotify, have a look at https://listenbrainz.org. You can sync your listens to there and it will give you weekly recommendations. From my experience so far they are decent. Note they don't host songs themselves, but will auto-search youtube/bandcamp/etc. And play the closest match. So YMMV. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
It really is an incredible resource, and Picard is a wonderful app. Very satisfying getting a library properly tagged! Takes a while, but totally worth it. Shoutout to ListenBrainz as well, their scrobbling service: https://listenbrainz.org/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
There's also ListenBrainz, run by the MusicBrainz org, which offers similar functionality without API restrictions or other paid features that Last.FM tries to push. https://listenbrainz.org/ If you wish to use your scrobble data at all programmatically this is a far better tool to use. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
If you really <3 clean data you can give listenbrainz.org a go (you can scrobble to that and last.fm concurrently so no need to โjump shipโ). Source: over 2 years ago
Thanks for sharing, yea listenbrainz.org has been doing some great work. Also has an API which can make things interesting. Source: almost 3 years ago
One way I keep up is using https://listenbrainz.org/ to track my listening habits. Then when you're logged in https://listenbrainz.org/explore/fresh-releases/ will show new releases from artists you listen to, and with KPop you can assume there is video(s) to go with each new release so I just go to youtube then to find them. Spotify at least was the problem when there was tons of people complaining daily. But if last.fm is the problem now and otherwise you could try https://listenbrainz.org/ as well. You can even import your last.fm history. Source: almost 3 years ago
But if you have issues with last.fm itself there is always ListenBrainz as well. I recommend both to everyone. I scrobble to last.fm, then import to ListenBrainz, but you can send your listens straight to ListenBrainz as well. Source: about 3 years ago
Listenbrainz.org solves this problem, but itโs not as feature complete as last.fm, yet. Source: about 3 years ago
A friend who's hard into obscura sent me this: https://listenbrainz.org Could be hot, could be not. Source: about 3 years ago
p.s. listenbrainz.org doesnโt have this duplication problem ๐. Source: about 3 years ago
I don't know if last.fm is open with any of their data beyond what you can see while using it, but a similar smaller site https://listenbrainz.org/ is. Open Source & Open Data. Not sure if that's helpful or not though. Source: about 3 years ago
While not a solution for last.fm, you can do this with ListenBrainz. I scrobble to Last.fm then import into ListenBrainz. I highly recommend using both! Source: about 3 years ago
I scrobble my plays to ListenBrainz. You can use the webhook feature to scrobble. Source: about 3 years ago
For discovery I'd suggest using https://www.last.fm/ and/or https://listenbrainz.org/ (I use both). Source: about 3 years ago
You can use https://listenbrainz.org/ it will count all artists for a track. And you can use it along side last.fm. I scrobble to last.fm then import my history into ListenBrainz. And no mixed artist issues either as it's all matched to https://musicbrainz.org/ entries and uses IDs rather than names. Source: about 3 years ago
According to my Last.fm/ListenBrainz accounts my most listened albums. Source: about 3 years ago
If you really want to scrobble past 2 weeks you'd have to use an alternative service such as https://listenbrainz.org/ I personally use it along with last.fm. Source: about 3 years ago
Called Listenbrainz. It has a Foobar plug-in, and even imports your last.fm data. Source: about 3 years ago
