These words come from Lorem Ipsum, dummy text used by graphic designers to showcase a font or typeset, rather than distract the reader with the text itself. It looks like Latin because it comes from De Finis Bonorum Et Malorum ("on the limits of good and evil"), one of Cicero's most lengthy works of Latin literature. Some of the words may be true to the original Latin, but it is designed to say nothing as many of... Source: 12 months ago
I bet it was lost in translation. Looks like a copypasta from https://lipsum.com/. The reference to not just PageMaker, but Aldus PageMaker is a clue to how long it's been around. The site has a number of other issues, too, but it's still better than third-party sites which exist only to drive traffic to delivery services or their POS. Source: 12 months ago
Yeah it's dummy/greeking text. You can read all about it here: https://lipsum.com/ it has a fascinating history. Source: about 1 year ago
Also fun fact, you can generate it on sites like this. Source: about 1 year ago
I think that the OP should write the manual, interspersed with actual content but mostly filled with lorem ipsum that appears to be written text but would actually require it to be read rather than flipped through. It's what books/newspapers used as props have when it's not a means of communicating anything to the audience. Wasting time doing the useless manual will take away time from productive activities. Lipsum.com has a lengthy explanation about the origins of the text. A short explanation of why is given as "The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.". For reference, one could go to lipsum.com and generate 10000 words. 120 USD would then give 75 notes like this (i know, math...). So one should decide if that's worth the money and the effort. Source: over 1 year ago
Just put some dummy content. That's not your job to do the content. Source: over 1 year ago

Lorem ipsum is commonly used by graphic designers, technical writers, and software engineers to demonstrate the appearance of a font, typeface, or textual presentation without distracting the audience with read content. It looks like Latin, and a few of the words are valid Latin words, because it was taken from a well-known Latin poem (Marcus Tullius Cicero's Dē Fīnibus Bonōrum et Malōrum, "on [the] ends/limits of... This is a quote from Lorem ipsum: a placeholder text used in publishing, graphic design, and software testing generally used to demonstrate the visual form of a font or textual presentation. It may look like Latin (because much of it came from Latin), but it is designed to read as nonsense gibberish, so that the audience can focus on the demonstration. Source: about 2 years ago
Along with the history of the origins, you can get the passages in different languages too https://lipsum.com/. Source: about 2 years ago
