LinkNYC is prevalent in midtown, while scattered elsewhere. Look for the big gray kiosks with screens showing facts about NYC, ads, etc. I haven't used them in a while, but info can be found here: https://link.nyc/. Barring that, you'll find all the local coffee shops have wifi. Source: 12 months ago
