Look for example at https://levels.fyi/internships, there are so many high paying companies for interns in the US, so Microsoft has to offer a great package to attract top talent. Meanwhile in europe you only have a few companies that would pay interns well, so just offering 2 grand a month still gets you plenty of highly qualified candidates. Source: over 2 years ago
