Some examples are Jellyfin Media Player, Swiftfin, or Kodi with the Jellyfin for Kodi Addon or JellyCon Addon. I watch a lot of anime with various subtitle formats and these clients always direct play my media. Source: about 3 years ago
There are clients you can use to direct play such as Jellyfin Media Player or Kodi with the Jellyfin for Kodi Addon or JellyCon Addon. I watch a lot of anime with various subtitle formats using Kodi on an Amazon FireStick and I never have to transcode. Source: about 3 years ago
On FireStick, you could try the same thing as above regarding the external players and if that doesn't work, instead install Kodi with either the Jellyfin for Kodi Addon or JellyCon Addon. Source: about 3 years ago
3.) Ditch Jellyfin AndroidTV altogether and install Kodi with the Jellyfin for Kodi Addon or JellyCon Addon. This is mainly what I use for TVโs when connecting to Jellyfin. I never have to transcode. Source: about 3 years ago
I mean, you could install Kodi, install either Jellyfin for Kodi or JellyCon, and experiment with different skins. Source: about 3 years ago
Jellyfin is transcoding. Find a way to not transcode. Maximize direct play. For example Jellyfin for AndroidTV canโt direct play a lot of my media so it has to transcode. So I now use the Jellyfin for Kodi Addon on Kodi and now I never have to transcode. I also use Swiftfin instead of Jellyfin iOS for this same reason. Source: about 3 years ago
I prefer Kodi with the Jellyfin for Kodi Addon over the Jellyfin app. Experiment with different skins to find one that you like. I recommend Embruary if you want something similar to the Jellyfin app. I personally use Aeon Nox Silvo. Source: about 3 years ago
