I use my Xbox controller with the JoyXoff app that has a very clean Xbox look popup keyboard. Works great for my use and you can toggle the mouse/keyboard function and use it as a regular controller with a few button combos. Very customizable to control all media, volume, and pretty much any keys/button customization you want. Source: almost 2 years ago
I know programs like x360ce, reWASD (another paid one!) or JoyXoff that map control buttons to keyboard/mouse, but do you know any free alternative that works as a browser extension? Thank you! Source: almost 2 years ago
I just started using https://joyxoff.com/en/ as a free alternative to controller companion after a few recommendations. Not sure if it maps the buttons you need, but it’s worth a try. Very simple to use. Source: almost 2 years ago
I would recommend installing this on the PC you are connecting to: https://joyxoff.com/en/. Source: almost 2 years ago
JoyXoff <- a good little shim to pair with SWICD bring back the mouse when the controller is in '360 mode'. Source: over 2 years ago
And then there is something I've not messed with yet but am looking to later on today https://joyxoff.com/en/ which pairs with the above and gives you a shift/function layer that can be toggled by a button press/combination and give you a second layer of keyboard commands on every button. I recommend using Joyxoff. That way you can control Windows with the Xbox Gamepad easily. And there is a build-in onscreen keyboard which works very well (with Xbox theme). In Windows 11 I recommend turning off the gamepad support within the Windows menus. Then you're good to go with everything. I've used many comparable programs like ReWASD or Xpadder but Joyxoff is so much easier to use and doesn't have problems... Source: over 2 years ago
This works best. It has a built-in keyboard as well that you can trigger by pressing down on the left thumbstick. https://joyxoff.com/en/. Source: over 3 years ago
You can, I played it with JoyXoff. You have to bind the inputs manually if you want to use the shortcuts, but it's playable with "mouse" only. If you're interested, I use the preset controls for Underrail from here. It's really great piece of software, and it's free, unlike Controller Companion. You can play every game with it, I use it for browsing too the web too when I'm feeling lazy. Hope it's useful! Source: over 3 years ago
