Jern Cloud is a governed way to hand coding work to an AI agent. You describe a bounded change, the agent works on a machine created for that attempt and destroyed afterwards, and the result comes back as a pull request that a person reviews and merges.
What sets it apart is that the limits are enforced outside the agent. A policy baseline committed to your repository says which paths the agent may edit, which shell commands it may run, which services it may start, and which hosts it may reach. The baseline is verified by digest before the agent starts and cannot change during a session. Every attempt runs under a hard token cap metered from your provider's own usage, optional spend caps in dollars, a time limit, and a concurrency limit. The agent process holds no credential: checkout, evidence upload, inference, and publication use separate short-lived tokens the runner keeps outside the sandbox, and its only network route is a relay to the Jern gateway.
Every attempt ends with a receipt, published as a check run on the pull request: outcome, policy digest, model and call count, tokens and estimated spend, files touched, services started, hosts contacted, issues read. The full trace is encrypted before it reaches Jern's database and is readable by authorized workspace members, with retention you control.
Sessions run on your own Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Vertex AI, or Fireworks key, so tokens bill to your account and Jern bills only the control plane. Work can start from the dashboard, from a label or a /jern comment on a GitHub issue, or from any MCP client such as Claude Code or Cursor. The agent can read the repository's issues and start declared services like Postgres on demand, and it keeps a small memory per repository between sessions.
The runtime and GitHub Action are open source under Apache-2.0. Python, Node, and .NET environments are available, with a 30-day free trial on every new workspace and a flat per-workspace price after that.
