  • GitDroid: A third party Android app manager for apps uploaded to GitHub releases
As also pointed out in a sibling thread, there's https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/ though, which is somebody's curated collection of apps with Github releases in the form of an F-Droid repository. - Source: Hacker News / 19 days ago
  • What are the popular foss apps which are not on fdroid?
Some FLOSS apps not available in the official F-Droid repo are hosted in IzzyOnDroid repo, compatible with all F-Droid clients. Source: about 2 years ago
  • What is your favorite method of downloading FOSS apps?
One of the larger ones would by IzzyOnDroid - https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/ - apps are built by the individual app developer and then may available here. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Similar app suggestion after opening an app?
Also if you want more FLOSS apps in your client, you might add the IzzyOnDroid repo to your F-Droid client. It serves FLOSS apps that include some non floss components (so the apps are not 100% FLOSS). Source: about 2 years ago
  • My New Favorite Launcher
Just checked, the neo launcher I use is not on the play store, although there is some other "neo launcher hyperion", thats not what I meant. If you want to try it out, you'll have to get the apk directly from their github (https://github.com/NeoApplications/Neo-Launcher) or get the F-Droid store & activate the IzzyOnDroid repo (https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/). Source: about 2 years ago
  • New to F-Droid , Just one question is it safe ?
I recommend you to add this IzzyOnDroid repo, it adds a lot more floss apps in addition to the ones already available in the main F-Droid repo. Source: over 2 years ago
  • HIIT Timer Apps
TimeR Machine or HIIT depending on what you want. Otherwise, just type hiit in the search bar of a F-Droid client (and add IzzyOnDroid repo to have access to more FOSS apps). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Foss alterntaive to digital well being ?
For those wondering, ActivityWatch is available through a F-Droid client via the IzzyOnDroid repo (you need to add it to your client first). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Phones being checked on street , in my country .
All apps can ve found on https://f-droid.org or https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Why curation and decentralization is better than millions of apps
One of those alternate app repositories for F-Droid is the IzzyOnDroid repo: https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • The Neo Store is the recommended way of getting Apps that are only available through F-Droid, but what exactly makes it the preferred method over the official/original F-Droid store?
Some of these F-Droid clients include additional repos (these can be added manually to the official F-Droid client too, with slightly more effort). For example a common repo is IzzyOnDroid. The thing is these other repos have slightly lower standards/quality checks for which apps they allow, compared to the official F-Droid repo. It is not something I'm personally worried about, just something to be aware of. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Obtainium: Get Android App Updates Directly From the Source.
Indeed, and the IzzyOnDroid repository covers most of the safe apps that are not in the official fdroid repository. Source: over 2 years ago
