These, but they won't hide your IP so you probably will need to use them with a VPN - https://instant.io/ - https://btorrent.xyz/ - https://ferrolho.github.io/magnet-player/. Source: 5 months ago
The page mentions the possibility of file sharing/torrents using WebRTC which does exist if anyone is interested: https://webtorrent.io/ and https://instant.io/ The projects are open source: https://github.com/webtorrent/webtorrent. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
I wish there was a command line program like this, but one that would make a torrent of that file [1] and return a magnet link for the torrent. The next weak point is the centralization around the tracker. You can solve this by sharing all the tracker information on Nostr [2], maybe? 1. https://instant.io. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Option #2 https://instant.io/ (unlimited size - uses WebTorrent). Source: over 1 year ago
So, what's the client you should use? There are many. For Windows/MacOS/Linux, maybe qBitTorrent? For Android, there's Flud, LibreTorrent, etc. If on iOS/iPhone/iPad, there's no app because Apple doesn't allow it (lol..), but you can use a "web client" like https://instant.io/ which behaves like the program/app. You'll need to keep the window open while it downloads and in this website's case, it doesn't accept... If I had to mention, it would be Instant.io for your reference. Source: over 1 year ago
It's really not at all. https://upload.disroot.org/ - 2GB per file, end to end encrypted, source: https://github.com/ldidry/lufi, other instances: https://alt.framasoft.org/framadrop/ https://datash.co/ - end to end encrypted, made for transfer between two devices https://send.tresorit.com/ - 5GB per file, end to end encrypted https://github.com/kern/filepizza - WebRTC + STUN/TURN file transfer between multiple... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Instant.io (it's torrenting sort of?) didn't work: It froze and never "uploaded" anything. Source: over 1 year ago
Now test this link by pasting it into instant.io and verifying that the movie loads within 10 seconds. Source: over 1 year ago
You can watch it on instant or whatever you prefer. Webtorrent's website, and instant.io, their official browser-based client (only support magnet links for download but since this is open source, you can probably find an alternative that supports them). Source: almost 2 years ago
Anything that uses WebRTC data channels because that protocol is already encrypted using temporary keys, for example instant.io. Source: almost 2 years ago
Instant.io [unlimited] (over WebTorrent and oprn source). Source: almost 2 years ago
Hmmm. I'm not sure that's possible but it is an interesting idea. This site mentions instant.io . I've never used instant.io. But it perhaps it's a potential solution. This concept reminds of IPTV, except for torrents. I think a problem with this is the seeding factor which could cause poor playback. Source: about 2 years ago
Instant.io: Free, requires no user account, and streams videos quickly. Source: over 2 years ago
I use qBittorrent. The WebTorrent setting is turned off. The handler for magnet links was instant.io which I removed hoping I would get a prompt to open magnet links with qBittorrent, but nothing. Source: almost 3 years ago
We are planning to support a direct “p2p only” mode that lets you share directly from your browser without the cloud upload, but the files will become unavailable when you close your tab, similar to how instant.io works. Source: almost 3 years ago
Hi, one of the creators of Wormhole here :) I'm also the creator of https://instant.io. Glad it's been useful to you! Source: almost 3 years ago
Also this has been around for a while now in the form of instant.io. Seems like the only difference is that if your file is below 5 GB, wormhole stores it on their server for a limited time, while instant.io is peer to peer only. Source: almost 3 years ago
What do you mean, could be? https://instant.io/ is just one of many webtorrent sites that do this. It's a wonderful use of bittorrent. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Some other WebRTC file transfer options: * https://wormhole.app/ (my recent fave, by creator of WebTorrent, holds for 24h, https://instant.io by same) * https://file.pizza/ (p2p, nothing stored) * https://webwormhole.io/ (same, but has a cli) * https://www.sharedrop.io/ (same, does qr codes) * https://justbeamit.com/ (same, expires in 10 minutes) * https://send.vis.ee (original Firefox Send code) *... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
