You see this https://imapsync.lamiral.info/ ? It's only for mails but it's a great solution. Source: 5 months ago
Do your parents have a domain, or are they just using the provider's domain? I've set up my 1522+ to backup our mail accounts using MailPlus on the Synology, and IMAPSYC running on my lab server. But it's backup only, not archiving. That technology could be used to get to your desired state, but there's some work involved to make a secure connection from the internet to your Synology possible, sync/archive... Check out imapsync (https://imapsync.lamiral.info/) - I am using it since years and migrated tousands of mailboxes without any problems. Source: 10 months ago
I would use https://imapsync.lamiral.info/ for email and sure there is another tool for contacts and calenders. Source: 11 months ago
There are two solutions for this 1. Using a tool called imap-sync to sync all your emails (it has a great incremental sync). You can run it periodically via cron 2. Using the same or similar tool and export to a database. Source: 11 months ago
Have a look at imapsync. Source: former web hosting sysadmin. Used this many times to move email. Source: 12 months ago
For email I used a unix app called imap2sync. I took a lot of notes during the the whole migration process. I hope it helps you. Source: 12 months ago
IMAPsync. This website is horrific. Looks like something from 1996, but it is legit and the tool works perfectly. https://imapsync.lamiral.info/. Source: about 1 year ago
It’s not really meant to move data from O365 to O365 but since O365 supports IMAP you probably can use it. https://imapsync.lamiral.info/. I used it to very successfully move mailboxes from postfix to O365. There is a free version that supports up to 3gb but if you can squeeze out €120, it’s well worth it. Source: about 1 year ago
In many cases, you can put Mail Server on the Synology, and use IMAPSYNC to copy mail to the synology. Source: about 1 year ago
I'll assume you want to use another domain in the new Workspace account you will create for her. If that's true, just use imapsync to migrate her emails from the current account to the new one. This tool will migrate all emails, labels and attachments. You only need to enable 2FA and create an App Password for both the source and destination account and have IMAP enabled. If you want something simpler, try DMS... Source: about 1 year ago
Use ImapSync to migrate between accounts https://imapsync.lamiral.info/. Source: about 1 year ago
(I can't help with mailboxes of that size - I cleaned all my mailboxes down to under 3GB each and used imapsync, worked like a dream.). Source: about 1 year ago
I have used imapsync with great success to migrate many big (think 100GB+) mailboxes from exchange, google suite and fastmail. Source: about 1 year ago
Personally I sync the emails in my Gmail account to my server at Hetzner using imapsync [1] every once in a while. The data on that server is backed up off-site at rsync.net using Borg. I'm intentionally not using Hetzner's storage boxes, because I want my backup to be entirely independent, e.g. If my Hetzner customer account is closed down for whatever reason. When I did my last migration I used https://imapsync.lamiral.info/. Source: over 1 year ago
I would consider using Mail Server (not plus) instead. Set up an account for each of the users, then use IMAPSYNC (https://imapsync.lamiral.info/) to backup mail from the original server to the Synology. Source: over 1 year ago
Thank you for pointing me towards mailcow where I subsequently found imapsync (https://imapsync.lamiral.info/). This looks promising, I will further investigate! Source: over 1 year ago
If you just want to move emails, imapsync is a great option. https://imapsync.lamiral.info/. Source: over 1 year ago
Imapsync has been the one for me: https://imapsync.lamiral.info/ There is a docker container thats super easy to use. It's worked flawlessly for me the two times I've needed it. Each time I use it I donate because it's clearly a great bit of code. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Is support for MBOX purely for Hey and Proton, or will it work with other services? I recently migrated about a decade's worth of iCloud/MobileMe/.Mac mail and Fastmail's import tool repeatedly stopped working. I ended up using imapsync to do the job. I did have exported MBOX files from Apple Mail that might've been quicker. Source: over 1 year ago
