  If you are happy with the performance, just a couple of notes: I BELIEVE that Apple replace the battery and whole keyboard (because it is quicker for the customer); if you do it yourself you will need to unglue the battery (not simple), but as others have said, ifixit.com have guides.   Some good tips for you, though: unplug your laptop when it's asleep/shut down. This will help increase the lifespan of your battery. Look up a few tutorials on how to disassemble it. Might be able to find some on ifixit. I recommend a tilting laptop mount to help increase airflow and improve wrist ergonomics.   It's called Stick Drift. You will need to try and clean it. First I would try and just use compressed air to blow inside there it's minimal effort to do this and might work.   I'm surprised Apple didn't offer to replace the top lid for you at a cost or at least give you a price. It's usually not cheap if a shop does it, prob 4-600.00 without knowing what the machine specs are and year. You can get a high grade lid on eBay too (they rate them from A, B C C, being the poorest condition and they're priced accordingly so you might bet like a Grade B to save money over a Grade A which would...   MBP has been running very well since I bought it new, but has been having issues with video streaming or anything high intensity causing slowdowns and a lot of heat this past year.   Depends on the MacBook, but in old versions, the model number is underneath the base of your computer. If not, just use your "about" in system settings to make sure you have the right MacBook.
