We have collected here some useful links to help you find out if Honeycomb is good.
Check the traffic stats of Honeycomb on SimilarWeb. The key metrics to look for are: monthly visits, average visit duration, pages per visit, and traffic by country. Moreoever, check the traffic sources. For example "Direct" traffic is a good sign.
Check the "Domain Rating" of Honeycomb on Ahrefs. The domain rating is a measure of the strength of a website's backlink profile on a scale from 0 to 100. It shows the strength of Honeycomb's backlink profile compared to the other websites. In most cases a domain rating of 60+ is considered good and 70+ is considered very good.
Check the "Domain Authority" of Honeycomb on MOZ. A website's domain authority (DA) is a search engine ranking score that predicts how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). It is based on a 100-point logarithmic scale, with higher scores corresponding to a greater likelihood of ranking. This is another useful metric to check if a website is good.

AI can be immensely helpful when sifting through Observability data. Even given a mature telemetry setup that enables you to ask questions you never explicitly planned for, it can still be hard to know which questions to ask, especially when dealing with massive amounts of logs, metrics, and traces. Honeycomb.io helps with this, for example, via Query Assistant which allows the user to express their query in plain... - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
I haven't used anything else, but I'll gladly shill for https://honeycomb.io. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
With all of this in place I went a step further and added Opentelemetry to track the stats of how often the routine was being triggered on Honeycomb. - Source: dev.to / about 3 years ago
Events can be used in many meaningful ways. The Event subsystem of B is pretty much a co-evolution of what honeycomb.io offers, but implemented completely differently - it is on bare-metal, and hence a lot cheaper. Because of that, B never subsampled, but always kept a full low of all events anywhere, no exceptions. Source: about 3 years ago
It should be noted that this is a very oblique ad for http://honeycomb.io. That in no way impugns the content of the post, and in fact, it's given the content of the post that I feel compelled to point out that, ultimately, this is an ad. Because what is sales and advertising, anyway? It's just a way to get you to buy a product, and you can't do that if you've never even heard about the product. I'm not currently... - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
Very cool to see honeycomb.io is doing that. I'm about to embark on my distributed tracing learning journey, this makes me want to try honeycomb right away. Source: over 3 years ago
Caveat: I work for a vendor in the O11y space (https://honeycomb.io) as a Developer Advocate, however, this advice is generic, not specific to our platform. Source: over 3 years ago
I spent Day 2 at the Colony Club to attend OTel Unplugged. This event was sponsored by Lightstep, Honeycomb, New Relic, Splunk, Dynatrace, Crowdstrike, and NGINX. I came into the event not knowing what to expect. I can sometimes clamp up when Iโm around folks that I donโt know, but because I was helping with the event check-in, I got to say hello to a number of the attendees, which helped break the ice. And it... - Source: dev.to / over 3 years ago
It's no surprise that my apps are mostly written using Sanic as I'm pretty involved with the project. I've been wanting to start testing honeycomb out as well, so it seemed the perfect opportunity to try out. - Source: dev.to / over 4 years ago
With this complexity, however, developers need a way understand how their build process is performing. CI platforms have come a long way help deliver these insights about your pipelines and workflows, but if you're using Nx, you're still probably left wondering "What is going on when I run nx affected build?" Nx Cloud is a great first step to see build performance and statistics, but that data still lives in the... - Source: dev.to / over 4 years ago
Hi, I'm a remote worker (principal engineer at honeycomb.io) and also previous alliance head of of-sound-mind.com (as well as one of the current IT infra maintainers). Happy to discuss my experienced, but I've also shared some here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3CsxLU0jC0. Source: over 4 years ago

On value relative to competitors, like I said, investing across the board (check out Series B funded honeycomb.io for a cool innovative start up that will one day probably IPO) in monitoring is good sense long-term. Splunk is different, because it's a lot like Tesla's P/E situation. Splunk dumps money on its people and huge marathon sales conventions. It dumps money on customer experience. It HEMMORAGES money.... Source: over 5 years ago
