  • Show HN: Hacker News with Tags
Hi, I’m Kirubakaran. I’m building histre - a knowledge tool for individuals and teams. One of the features of histre is to auto-organize your knowledge. I thought that a fun way to demo that could be to apply that to the Hacker News front page. This page mirrors HN with tags automatically applied: https://histre.com/hn/ You can filter by or exclude multiple tags. For example, if you’re tired of posts related to ai... - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
  • What's the closest alternative to Evernote for clipping?
I’ve been looking at Histre. Would that do? Source: about 1 year ago
  • Self-promotion Thread [Off Topic]
I have a few servers colocated in a datacenter for histre.com, which is a knowledge system for everyone. Histre does a lot of machine learning, and there is a GPU on the server (Tesla T4) that's often idle. I figured it can run Stable Diffusion when the GPU is idle so that people get to experience SD for free, and perhaps hear about histre too. That's not my main motivation though. I was primarily frustrated by... Source: over 1 year ago
  • To the guy who wouldn't share his model
I have a few servers colocated at he.net for running histre.com I installed Nvidia Tesla T4 in one of them because histre does a lot of machine learning. I figured it can run Stable Diffusion when the GPU is idle so that people get to experience it, and perhaps hear about histre too (though that's not my main motivation). Source: over 1 year ago
  • An interesting accident
Histre is a knowledge tool. It seamlessly works with your bookmarks, lets you collaborate on your online research, etc. It uses AI for various things, but behind the scenes, so that everyone can make use of it, not just people super into tech. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Why are bookmarks second class citizens in browsers?
Thanks! I work on https://histre.com/ and lot of users say that this feature is very useful to them. Many of them say that they use separate windows for each thing they're trying to do, and before you know it you have 10 different windows with a lot of tabs each. You can save the states of all of them and restore them selectively, as you said. Bookmarks are too primitive imho. It is typically treated as just one... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Why are bookmarks second class citizens in browsers?
I use histre (http://histre.com) to accomplish this functionality, not only within Firefox but across browsers, computers, and even colleagues. My favorite feature is being able to save all tabs within a window, send a link to a co-worker, and have them open up all the tabs. It takes like 5 secs, end to end. Best of all: if they have the histre extension as well, they can instantly open all the tabs at once and... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

Histre[0] automatically saves your browsing history (customizeable[0] of course). No explicit save action needed. [0] https://histre.com/ [1] https://histre.com/articles/customize-logging/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago

  • I centralize and distribute my bookmarks
If I may shamelessly plug my startup: https://histre.com/ I'm building recommendations on top of your bookmarks / notes / highlights. This could be interesting because there is no conflict of interest in those recommendations (ie not trying push anything). - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
