  • Unity's Trap
[HaxeFlixel](https://haxeflixel.com/) and [Defold](https://defold.com/) come to mind as lighter 2D-focused frameworks with web export options and published games. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Ask HN: Best stack to make a 2D game in 2023
I've personally had a very good experience with Haxe and Haxeflixel (https://haxeflixel.com/) although Heaps (https://heaps.io/) seems to be more popular nowadays. Haxe is very nice as a language, can easily cross-compile to a lot of targets, Haxeflixel is heavily inspired by some Actionscript framework and has a lot of goodies. Maybe Heaps is more mature, up to date and allows for more advanced features. - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
  • Game engine for programmars
Older, maybe still fun to use Home | HaxeFlixel 2D Game Engine. Source: about 2 years ago
  • My mod RPG Overhaul is on hold! Please read this until the end
So I decided to put it in my "things to do" list and start more simple on modding, like a simple full week mod or something. I started to learn C#) as I wanna develop games with Unity, and learning C# would also get more familiar with OOP and High-Level Programming Languages so then I can go back to Haxe (the language HaxeFlixel is built to work with) and understand it better. • What is a easy game programming language to start with?
You can use it with https://haxeflixel.com/ or https://heaps.io/ for example. Source: over 2 years ago
  • I learned coding through Actionscript, but is it still a viable option for 2021 onwards?
I don't use javascript or haxe, but I've heard a bunch of flash oldtimers seem to like haxeflixel. Source: over 2 years ago
  • A Powerful Game Engine like HaxeFlixel
It's been a while since I've been looking for a very good Code Only(No Editor) Game Engine. I would like to find a Game Engine like HaxeFlixel. If you guys don't know what HaxeFlixel is, take a look at the website here! Source: over 2 years ago
  • Where do i start to develop a game
Haxe. Technically it's not a framework but a language and ecosystem, it is considered the successor of Flash and ActionScript. It's a nice strongly typed language similar to Typescript, and while I always thought it was like a niche game development resource, quite popular indie games have been written in Haxe: Papers Please, Dead Cells, Evoland and others. It's worth checking out HaxeFlixel, a 2D game... Source: over 2 years ago
  • How would I learn haxe from scratch with no programming experience
If you are planning to make a game, you could try examples from haxeflixel or heaps. Source: almost 3 years ago
