Hackchinese.com has lots of vocabulary lists, like "baking a cake" (14 words), "bicycles" (53 words), "bus" (29 words).... There is a free trial so you can see if you like it, but I don't remember how long it is. Source: over 4 years ago
I was in the same place a few months ago. The thing that's helped me a lot is reading online, so that it's easy to look words up.
