GrowsChat is built for people who want quick, low commitment conversations with strangers, without the friction of creating an account. That includes people practicing a new language, people who are bored and want something spontaneous, and anyone curious to talk to someone outside their usual circle. It's especially suited to the same audience that used Omegle before it shut down: mostly younger, internet native users looking for casual, anonymous social interaction rather than a dating or networking platform.
GrowsChat started as a simpler idea, a place to talk to someone new without the noise most platforms come with. The first version launched and taught more than it succeeded: no rate limits, no real cost plan, and server costs became unsustainable. It was rebuilt from scratch as V2, with a few decisions made early and stuck to. AI is always disclosed, never pretending to be human. No account is required to start. Next.js for the frontend, deployed on Cloudflare Workers. Node.js and Socket.IO power the realtime backend, with WebRTC for voice and video calls. MongoDB Atlas handles the database and Redis for caching. AI matching and moderation run on Groq, Gemini, and NSFWJS.
GrowsChat just launched and is still building its first user base, so there are no named customers to share yet. Early users can be found through the ongoing public build and the Product Hunt and Nick Launches launches.
