Something else you might consider if you aren't tied to WordPress, there's other blogging platforms which can be run locally and just spit out HTML/CSS/JavaScript which you can then upload to a static web host. This would make it basically free to host since you wouldn't need a traditional server. But would require you to change how you do things.
