I'm looking to improve my documents syncing setup. Currently I'm using owncloud, but that seems overkill for just files syncing and it requires maintenance, so I gave Syncthing a look. The "Untrusted device encryption" was not appealing to me because I'm not convinced by the security aspects yet, and also because it is in beta for now. I used gocryptfs [1] in the past and was quite happy with it, so I'm planning... - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
A comparison gocryptfs would be appreciated, since this software, at first glance, has no differentiating features from it. https://nuetzlich.net/gocryptfs/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

If you'd like something similar to Tomb but in userspace, perhaps you'd prefer gocryptfs? It's also in void repos. Source: over 1 year ago
Not sure about your use case, but I personally use gocryptfs : https://nuetzlich.net/gocryptfs/. Source: over 1 year ago
I used to use EncFS. Now replaced with gocryptFS. Source: about 2 years ago
Cryptomator looks really cool! It only encrypts files and uploads them individually on any change from what I see. By looking through software similar to Cryptomator and using that new search term you gave me, 'client side encryption,' though, I found CryFS and GoCryptFS, which look like maybe even better solutions because they are able to hide the number of files and the directory structure, as well as... My preferred method is gocryptfs. I wouldn't say it is zero knowledge because it's file based encryption and the file sizes are visible. If you want to hide that as well, I would combine it with rclone's chunking feature. You could actually use rclone's encryption feature as well if you wanted to do it all within a single software package. Source: over 2 years ago

Check out gocryptfs, it's a fuse filesystem that you mount on any folder you want (like ~/Downloads if you so desire) and anything you store in it gets transparently encrypted. Source: over 2 years ago

As for Linux, something like gocryptfs can offer a decent solution. Source: almost 3 years ago
Then, there is DroidFS which creates a Gocryptfs vault. You use the app to access the decrypted files and the encrypted files are stored on the phone's storage/sdcard. Source: almost 3 years ago
I recommend something along the lines of gocryptfs, cryfs or cryptomator. Source: about 3 years ago
