Last year I took my doggie to a Getaway cabin for some glamping; I went to the Barber Creek location which is about a 2 hr drive. We could hear some fireworks far in the distance, but the Getaway cabins themselves have very strict quiet hours and my dog was happy and relaxed. Source: 10 months ago
Kind of expensive but this is nice: https://getaway.house/. Source: 10 months ago
Try Getaway. They have one location near Charlottesville and are opening another near Shenandoah. I’ve stayed there a few times. Close to Charlottesville shops, wineries and also hiking. Cozy little tiny house with everything you need. And you can sit by your own private fire pit. https://getaway.house/. Source: about 1 year ago
Try Getaway House. So far, I’ve been to two local camps and it has been the best place to unwind. And very pet friendly! https://getaway.house/. Source: about 1 year ago
It's a "Getaway" campground. Sites include these minimalist, almost off the grid (there is a phone for emergencies) trailers with a huge window looking out on the scenery. They have a bunch of campgrounds across the country, would highly recommend if you're wanting a disconnected camping experience but don't necessarily have the gear. https://getaway.house/. I haven't tried them yet but I've been really interested in booking one of these tiny cabins some day. As someone who likes nature but not too much nature it seems like a good comfortable compromise. Https://getaway.house. Source: over 1 year ago
I just visited a Getaway [0] and read the founders’ book “How to Get Away”. It is about how to balance technology in our lives, not necessarily remove it, but how to not forget how to be human, in a sense. Interesting read. In a similar vein, I’m reading Walden now after having been to Walden Pond, seeing Thoreau’s cabin spot, and wondering if I could do the same, maybe to a lesser extreme. If you are outdoorsy, I thought the Getaway tiny cabins near Shenandoah were fun and low key. They each come with a fire pit, and they are cozy for two people. Great hiking and wineries aren’t too far. Source: over 1 year ago
I only trip alone. My favorite place is https://getaway.house. They have tiny home campgrounds all over the US. Get to be in nature but with all the creature comforts. And no one will bother you. Source: over 1 year ago
I've seen that you have something very similar in the US called Gataway Cabins, might be worth checking out - https://getaway.house/. Source: over 1 year ago
I tried looking through Airbnb but found very little available at that time (and yeah, super expensive) so I ended up finding Getaway, a company that has tiny home rentals all over the country and was much cheaper than anything I saw on Airbnb: https://getaway.house/. Source: almost 2 years ago
I haven’t tried them, but Getaway cabins look nice and accept dogs. Source: almost 2 years ago
The path forward can be an adventure together. Share experiences will help build that path. Try taking him to a place in the middle of the woods for a weekend. (I like these places Getaway House ). Source: almost 2 years ago
Getaway has a new location about two hours drive from new orleans. I stayed at one near houston and it was awesome Https://getaway.house/. Source: almost 2 years ago
There is a Getaway House less than 5 minutes from the zoo. The experience alone is worth a trip to that area. Stay at your Getaway House on a Saturday or whatever, then go to the zoo the day of checkout. You’ll be happy you did. Source: about 2 years ago
Try looking at Getaway. They have a few locations within a couple hours of the city and more or less reachable with public transport (when I went I took Amtrak and then a $15 Uber from the Amtrak station). Tiny home cabins, nice views, decently priced, and if you go in the middle of the week they have some discounts. Definitely cheaper than Airbnb. Source: about 2 years ago
Getaway house. About an hour and a half away. Https://getaway.house/? Source: about 2 years ago
Https://getaway.house/ highly recommend this place, they have two NY locations in the Catskills. Source: about 2 years ago
I’ve never done it but check out Getaway. I think it might be exactly what you’re looking for. Source: about 2 years ago
I don't know your area at all but it looks like it's about an hour and a half from Charlotte and there is a large wildlife refuge nearby? If so that is more than enough basis for local tourism. Have you looked to see what other Airbnbs are in the area? This seems like a perfect area for a https://getaway.house/ type of setting that would have a relatively low startup cost.
