Most pool apps are either basic chemical calculators or enterprise-grade route management tools — FlowBeacon sits in between, combining a full visit log, chemistry gauges with real-time dosing calculations, inventory tracking, checklists, and a CSI water balance tester in one mobile-first interface that installs like a native app without an app store.
FlowBeacon gives you the depth of a professional service tool without the complexity or enterprise pricing. You get chemistry trending over time, automatic inventory deduction when you log a chemical dose, reusable maintenance checklists, and a Langelier Saturation Index calculator — all in an app that works on any device without installation. For pool service pros it replaces a patchwork of spreadsheets and notes. For homeowners it makes water chemistry history actually readable.

The first is independent pool service professionals and small pool service companies who need a lightweight field tool for logging visits, tracking chemical inventory, and monitoring water quality across multiple pools and properties. The second is engaged pool owners — particularly those with residential pools, spas, or salt water systems — who want more than a one-off calculator and prefer to track their pool's history over time.
FlowBeacon grew out of a frustration shared by both pool pros and owners: the tools available were either too simple (one-off calculators) or too heavy (enterprise route software built for large fleets). The goal was a focused, fast, mobile-first app that treats pool service as what it actually is — a recurring maintenance workflow with chemistry, equipment, and inventory all interconnected. Built as a PWA on Next.js and Supabase, FlowBeacon is designed to work well on a phone at the equipment pad, not just on a desktop in an office.
FlowBeacon is built on Next.js 14 (React), deployed on Vercel, with Supabase providing the database, authentication, and file storage. It is a progressive web app (PWA), meaning it installs on mobile devices without an app store. Stripe handles subscription billing. The frontend is written in TypeScript with a custom CSS design system centered on the app's teal accent color.
