Unless a piece you want has been recreated or arranged on MuseScore or flat.io, you must buy your own music unless someone wants to give some old music to you. Source: 11 months ago
I was able to do this with flat.io. Source: 11 months ago
The web-based options are, unsurprisingly, more limited. flat.io is pretty bad, Noteflight is better but still very limited and quite bad to use. There's some more niche stuff like Unison but it might not be the most accessible. Source: 11 months ago
For gear, I didn't use any pedals or even an amp to record this. I bought an audio interface (you can get a pretty good one used for like $80) and plugged my guitar into my laptop. I used a free ampsim I found online and recorded it. I then sent it to a producer who cleaned up the tone and mixed it in with all the other instruments (on this specific track I had real people I found online play all the instruments... I've used Flat a lot, it's really beginner friendly: https://flat.io/. You can search "music notation" program or software or website for other options. Source: 12 months ago
As a somewhat biased perspm who started out on flat.io and moved to musescore, I highly recommend moving to musescore. The soundfonts are much better in my opinion and the instruments arent locked behind a paywall. You can still make some cool stuff on flat, but its pretty limiting. Nice work though! My current program is Flat, which suits most of my needs, but unfortunately I do not have the budget for something like Finale, given the $300 cost. Flat has decent instrument sounds however, and without a real orchestra it is suitable. This might not be exactly what you want, but I think I can write something to change your mind :D Also, here’s a string quartet sample. If you have any special requests that I... There's a bunch of scorewriting apps available (some are even free) for phone and tablet that can help. (Practicality with a tablet may be an issue when 'out and about' as you put it but it's there.) There's also flat.io in a pinch if you have an internet connection where you are. Source: about 1 year ago
Literally just like write the rhythm in flat.io it makes it so easy. Source: about 1 year ago
I'm not playing it myself, but I made an arrangement in flat.io, so here ya go! Source: about 1 year ago
I feel like flat.io is a good sheet music composing website/app. The features are not too limited although I use free mode. Source: about 1 year ago
I'm interested in purchasing a Godin Multiac Nylon SA Natural HG with LR Baggs pickups. It has the 13-pin synth access port but I am curious if anyone uses the guitar to input notes into a notation software like finale or, specifically flat.io. I want to buy the guitar to make playing with a band easier in live situations but I know I would use it a lot for making transcriptions and notating music. Can anyone... Source: over 1 year ago

I've noticed that with every single flat.io score posted here (and elsewhere). I think it must be the default of the software. I'm guessing most people can't be bothered to change the default notation to standard, or just don't know that it's an issue (or both). Source: over 1 year ago
Https://flat.io/ is fine. You can only have 15 scores in the free version, though. Source: over 1 year ago
And then for notating your own music, this website is free up to a point and is quite simple and intuitive: https://flat.io/. Source: over 1 year ago
Thanks dude, really appreciate it! This is actually my third piece I've made, the first two being on this free online program called flat.io. I moved here because it's better in every way, and I'm currently remaking my first piece I make a year ago. I also added a bit more to this piece, and though it's not nearly done, I don't think I'm going to add more new stuff, just add to what I've got. Also I'll keep in... Source: over 1 year ago
Me and my gf are music teachers and created this over lockdown. It's a virtual classroom for music ed, specifically piano. It has features like a virtual keyboard (so you can see both student and teachers notes & velocity), real-time duets (enabled with MIDI), collaborative notation (flat.io), multi-cam inputs and modular layouts. It's only a fiver per month too. Source: over 1 year ago
There's Noteflight and flat.io, but I've never tried them. They're both free, with limitations. Source: over 1 year ago
Sounds an awful lot like the flat.io version. Source: almost 2 years ago
I used flat.io to write the music, and produce the sheet music, which I removed the watermarks from. Source: almost 2 years ago
