For leetcode specifically, I use firenvim to start a neovim session in the text area that would normally be leetcode's area and then have an autocmd that looks for "leetcode" in the filename and prompts me to select a filetype. Source: 5 months ago
Yea worth it. As far as good for certain languages over others: text is text. Once you’re more experienced with how (neo)vim works, you won’t want to type anywhere. Like in the browser or obsidian. Source: 11 months ago
In that case give firenvim[1] a try. It uses your existing config (keymaps, plugins, autocmds, etc). [1] https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim. - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
You propably could use https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim inside of overleaf webpage. Althought I haven't tested it. Source: about 1 year ago
If by everywhere you mean everywhere, then take a look on this https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim. Source: about 1 year ago
Hi, has anyone managed to get firenvimworking in BQ console? Source: over 1 year ago
Interesting about the security note and WASM re: the Neovim version. (see here: https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim) Does this open up an attack surface on users using vim/neovim? This page seems to indicate that neovim (and this) do not run in a sandbox already. Can anyone with more knowledge on this expand on that? - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
What about https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim though? Source: over 1 year ago
For Neovim users, see also Firenvim [0]. Which I've been using for quite a while now. [0] https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
However, I do look for projects that embed vim in other applications. Stuff like https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim, https://github.com/FelixKratz/SketchyVim, and the deceased https://www.onivim.io all embed real, actual (Neo)vim in text input fields and it just feels right. Please checkout firenvim, which accomplishes this very useful trick in a site-configurable manner and is compatible with Tridactyl. https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
My favorite thing for this is the firenvim plugin which allows you to use your custom vim instance with your vim config for typing text in web browsers. Also I always make capslock a second escape key. I don't know how people use keyboards with the escape key super tiny and offset from all the other keys for vim. Source: over 1 year ago
I use the office365 webpage with a vim editor plugin. Source: over 1 year ago
This looks like it would slot really nicely into use with Firenvim. Firenvim already offers an alternative to the cmdline, but this could replace all the UI components that don't work as well in a browser text box. Source: over 1 year ago
Neovim still takes the cake as it doesn't take 300 years to get editor-required features implemented and shipped. You can write your config in lua, which is way better than vimscript. AND you can use neovim in any text box in your browser: https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim (one of my fave features tbh). Source: over 1 year ago
That means the app is not on our browsers. For that see Firenvim ☛ https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim. Source: almost 2 years ago
Thanks, it's done just confused about this part. This is how it shows in the examples. Source: almost 2 years ago
Firenvim embeds Neovim in the browser, Qnvim in QtCreator, VSCodeVim/VSCode-neovim in VSCode... Why aren't they good examples in your opinion? :). Source: almost 2 years ago
Is it possible to either use an embedded Neovim instance as in https://github.com/vscode-neovim/vscode-neovim or https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim, or to tell Logseq to open pages in an external editor? Source: about 2 years ago
I installed firenvim recently which puts a fully-featured nvim instance over any textbox in chrome/firefox. I haven't looked back since. Source: about 2 years ago
At first I was jealous of the GUI navigation, but then I realized I don't use any GUIs other than firefox, for which there are plenty of plugins. The Vim emulation is pretty cool, the closest alternative I can think of is https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim, but I disabled it a while ago for being kind of clunky. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
