I personally use Filen (https://filen.io/) because of its lifetime plans. It just works for me. Source: 10 months ago
I wanted to try filen.io so I got a 500GB plan during the Black Friday. The main reason was the Zero knowledge end-to-end encryption. Source: 10 months ago
At the moment I thinking about:tier 1: filen.io. Source: about 1 year ago
A second option: Filen has 10GB free and 100GB lifetime for €30. Their higher-capacity plans are pretty affordable too. Source: about 1 year ago
Hi ! I've just discovered a cloud provider called Filen : filen.io, they offer a desktop app to sync local folder to remote. The app is an AppImage, I've tried to run it all day long. It starts normally, but once I'm logged in, the app GUI just closes and does not show itself in the taskbar anymore, but the AppImage is still working in background (Console is still open, and system monitor shows some process). Filen. I use filen for everything. Data storage, data sharing, photo and video backups etc. Though it is a new competitor in the cloud storage market, developers are active and they're continuously developing the app. Zero knowledge and end-to-end encryption is one of their features so I think that anything you put it in there will not be removed because of copyright issues. They have a wide variety of monthly,... Source: about 1 year ago
I recently came across this cloud service called Filen. It is very nice and easy to use and the prices are fair. It is end to end encrypted by default. Personally I use Icedrive as I already bought a lifetime plan but I am considering buying a lifetime plan with Filen. Https://filen.io/. Source: over 1 year ago
But if you want the "I lost everything, how do I get back in my vault" I suggest encrypting Bitwarden exports and saving that in an encrypted cloud storage. I like filen.io because they have cheap lifetime plans, avoid free ones as they may delete your files if you're inactive for too long. This way you only need to remember the email address for filen, export password, and the filen password to get back to... Source: over 1 year ago
If anyone is interested in a good and secure open source file syncing/backup service, try out https://filen.io. Source: over 1 year ago
Filen - Open source and freemium file sharing that is open source and encrypted. Source: over 1 year ago
Do the same thing with multiple (2-3?) E2EE cloud services (I'm thinking filen.io, Tresorit, sync.com, pCloud). Source: over 1 year ago
I can understand you need to use something else than Proton Drive (I do too). But Dropbox is probably not a good alternative, considering available options on the market. Filen is growing popularity, Tresorit is renowned for being decent (but expensive). Source: over 1 year ago
Filen.io seems pretty good to me, both for storing up to medium amounts of data and to share them:. Source: over 1 year ago
OneDrive is 1TB. 4TB if you use sharepoint. Filen is cool. Source: over 1 year ago
The alternatives I tried and I like them both E2EE and both 10 GB free, Only Skiff has: this features cloud storage across the planets (IPFS), mail provider, pages (notes) and calendar. 1. https://filen.io Germany 2. https://skiff.com/drive USA. Source: over 1 year ago
Got an invite for filen.io , subscribed to the free plan. I'm supposed to get an mail to confirm my email address, but it never arrives, not in spam, not after some 'resend mail's. Source: over 1 year ago
I personally use Filen. It's not dedicated for photos/videos, just general cloud storage (they do have a "camera upload" feature). Source: over 1 year ago
Filen provides zero knowledge E2E AES encryption. Here is the website- https://filen.io/. Source: over 1 year ago
To my knowledge, there are only 2 other real contenders in the privacy cloud storage segment. Tresorit and Filen. Tresorit is by far the most advanced and more enterprise ready solution. Filen is closer in functionality to Proton Drive, but does at least have sync apps for all platforms - including desktop. but their iOS and Android apps is not working as smoothly as it could. I've been using Filen which does everything we've been waiting for from Proton Drive/Photos. E2EE encryption with auto media upload and apps for everything including Linux. Source: over 1 year ago
Currently, when I log into filen.io, I can only do searches for the current folder I'm in. So it's not possible to look for say, all JPG files in my drive, I can only go folder by folder, which for pictures and other applications isn't practical. Source: over 1 year ago
