Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Episodely.tv.
  1. Why should a person choose Episodely.tv over its competitors?

Trakt and Simkl are great if you want scrobbling and automation. Serializd is great for show-level reviews. Episodely is for people who finish an episode and want to talk about that episode, without spoilers, with a calendar that isn't full of shows they never started, and platform filters on What to watch for what they can actually stream. If you still have a TV Time export, your comments come with you.

  2. Who are some of the biggest customers of Episodely.tv?

No business customers. Episodely is currently for individual fans in open beta, not companies.

  3. What makes Episodely.tv unique?

Discussion lives under each episode, with Spoiler Shield so unwatched ones stay blurred. TV Time import keeps your comments and linked GIFs, not just the list. Hard details stay right: anime numbering as the show uses it, remakes kept distinct, release dates in your timezone. Calendar can show only series you're caught up with. Free, ad-free, EU servers, 14 languages.

  4. How would you describe the primary audience of Episodely.tv?

People who track TV, movies and anime seriously: binge watchers, calendar people, anime fans who care about episode numbers, and anyone who wants episode-level chat without spoilers. Also people who still have a TV Time export and want their history and comments back. Desktop and phone via the installable web app.

  5. What's the story behind Episodely.tv?

Episodely started as an indie project by a TV Time fan looking for something in the same spirit, then better. Small gaps in the old app kept getting in the way. One example: a calendar packed with shows you never started. Here you can filter to series you're caught up with, so you only see what actually matters next. Built free, ad-free, and independent. Open beta now.

  6. Which are the primary technologies used for building Episodely.tv?

Next.js and TypeScript on the web, with a European hosted database and auth layer. Show and movie data from TMDB. Streaming availability from JustWatch. Ships today as an installable web app. Native apps come later (date TBA).
