I used to use Plex until I found Emby. I find Emby easier to use and it does the same thing. Just putting this here as a fourth option for OP. :). Source: 5 months ago
I use https://emby.media along with private trackers and Usenet. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
You can find it here! I have both installed, but I generally keep EMBY turned off until I want to play around with it. You can have both running at once and both accessing the same folders. You can check it out for free. Source: 10 months ago
Emby: Offers premium features with some behind a membership. Source: 10 months ago
I went with Emby, personally. Plex, Jellyfin, etc are all good choices too! :). Source: 11 months ago
I used Plex until I found Emby, which is far easier to set up and works very well with all my media. Source: 12 months ago
Emby is another option and is usually cheaper. Plex is free but the paid Plex Pass gives you a lot of features you might want later. Source: 12 months ago
Anyone else though, should have to connect through emby connect, where they have to login to emby.media, and it'll direct them from here. I want no login screen (of users) to be shown when hitting my server remotely. Source: about 1 year ago
I wouldn't use Jellyfin for a project of this scale, but rather its commercial and better supported alternative, Emby. Jellyfin is actually an offshoot of it. Source: about 1 year ago

Noticed I couldn't get to the forum to look into a question, then noticed I'm not able to get to https://emby.media at all ... Is it just me? Source: over 1 year ago
As for server applications, for home listening I'm running Logitech Media Server, and a combination of Emby and Synfonium for mobile listening. Source: over 1 year ago
Looks like someone goofed the link. Just change it to https and it works fine. emby.media is an official domain. Source: over 1 year ago
It doesn't appear to be phishing, as the link is a proper emby.media link. I would expect them to disclose something soon. Source: over 1 year ago
Yeah, Emby. Its free tier is more than sufficient for most home users and even offers remote access. I'm been running it for years now on Windows and it works very well while offering a very pleasant UI/UX. Source: over 1 year ago
For video serving, I highly recommend Emby. It's very user friendly, supports multiple users/administrators, Google Cast and Apple AirPlay streaming natively, with UPnP-DLNA streaming available via a plug-in. It's free tier, which is all most people will need, supports secure remote access via the Internet. Tailscale, the VPN I mentioned previously, would allow that regardless, though. I've been using the following for a number of years and really like it: https://emby.media/. Source: over 1 year ago
Emby - media server similar to Plex. You could use Jellyfin as it is open source, but I ran into bugs and decided it was worth paying for Emby (though there is a free version). Source: over 1 year ago
I use the program called Emby on an old laptop and it actually loads songs faster than Spotify when on 4G. I used a python script called SpotDL to download my entire spotify library as MP3s. Source: over 1 year ago
I know that Emby facilities Collections quite easily as I've done it myself. And, Logitech Media Server facilities Virtual Libraries, which might work for you. Source: over 1 year ago
