  • Home robbery deterrent : security options for neighborhood
Ours work just fine......... Never had any issue with connectivity or notifications. If coverage is your issue, look for something like a mesh network for your home rather than a central router and extenders. Source: about 3 years ago

Eero Wi-Fi extenders work well and save a monthly extra bill. Https://eero.com/. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Finally getting fiber!
New ISP in town looks to have a pretty solid set up. 1gig simetrical for $50/m (plus some freebies like 1Password family, malwarebytes, etc.,) which comes with a https://eero.com "Security WiFi system." Which I assume to be a Eero wifi hub, maybe v6 but probably previous gen. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • Eero might be the worst company when it comes to refunds for returning items.
Yeah, but Amazon is the best so by your eeros from Amazon instead of eero.com if you think there is a chance that you will be returning them. Source: about 4 years ago
  • What is the best wifi provider on the west side of Portland?
I use Astound (the new name of Wave G) for my internet service, connected to a purchased eero WiFi hotspot. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Has anyone tried Mesh wifi with Nuro ONU?
3rd and the worst option is the Wifi mesh. There's like Eero and other dedicated makers for this. They will have the same problems though, if your phones/pc struggle on the 1st floor, so will the mesh because the backhaul is, well, same wireless. Source: about 4 years ago

Amazon has their own schedule for when they do sales, as does eero.com. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Any MetroNet customers using eero Secure or Secure+?
In both cases, nothing changed - Secure+ functionality was still limited in my eero app, and my eero.com account management page still said I wasn't eligible for Secure+. So if MetroNet is the cause of this, that suggests to me that it isn't MetroNet's device blocking it. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Any MetroNet customers using eero Secure or Secure+?
I've had eeros and used eero Secure+ for a couple of years with a previous ISP. Three weeks ago, I switched my ISP to MetroNet. Everything was fine and then today I noticed the eero Secure+ options in my eero app were suddenly gone. I logged into my account on eero.com and at the portion where it would usually let me manage my eero Secure subscription, instead it says, " Your account is not eligible for eero... • eero Gateway advertises unreachable DNS IP on Guest Network
You can now notice that even on the "isolated" GUEST network, eero actually relays any DNSo53 request to the listed local DNS server (192.168.7.7 ) and responds back with proper DNS results. (Try "dig example.com @192.168.7.7" on a GUEST network connected devices and you will see on Pi-Hole/AdGuard Home that the request will actually come through the eero node that the GUEST NETWORK device is currently connected to). • Moving to a new house, never had Mesh before, need some advice...
I have multiple smart homes. All homes were operating on enterprise grade Ruckus Wireless mesh networks and Sophos XG wired networks. I downgraded the networks in all homes to eero. Now, there are at least 2 eeros in every home in a mesh network. The mesh network may be wired. The mesh network may be wireless. The mesh network may be a combination of the two. In the 2+ years I’ve had eero in the houses,... Source: over 4 years ago
  • Strong router for big home
For large homes you are better off with a mesh system (several routers working together). I used Eero for years in my home before upgrading to Ubiquity products for more advanced features. Source: over 4 years ago

  • Need help for a product
Eero pro 6 systems are on sale right now on eero.com and amazon if that helps you make your decision (3 pack is $459 instead of $599). It is a limited time deal. I don't know how much longer eero systems will be on sale as they have been on sale for a few days. You can also get a switch to increase the number of ports. Netgear and TP-Link have good, inexpensive 5 ports switches. Source: almost 5 years ago
  • WAP recommendations for wifi upgrade with preference for open solution preferred
I know that Eero (Amazon), Nest Wifi (Google) and UniFi (Ubiquiti) all offer solutions in that regard but I'd prefer a solution that isn't "cloud based" if I can avoid it. Source: about 5 years ago

I get up to 650Mbps at the remote node in my living room on wifi-6 with the ZenWiFi AX, also with wireless backhaul. The nodes are in exactly the same places for both eero and ZenWiFi AX when I run tests, and same speed test server (eero.com). So guess which mesh system I'll be using? Source: about 5 years ago

That last one was close to what was actually happening! Digging through the network, I found out an (guess the name) eero device got installed recently in the office. I feel kinda dumb now that I know the reason behind this. Source: about 5 years ago

Summary of the public mentions of eero

Overview of Public Opinion on Eero

Eero is an established player in the realm of mesh WiFi systems, offering a solution that aims to simplify and enhance home network connectivity. From the analysis of recent public opinions and product mentions, a well-rounded perspective about Eero's performance and customer reception can be gathered.

Strengths and Positive Perceptions
  1. Ease of Use and Setup: Several user discussions highlight Eero's simplicity in installation and configuration. The plug-and-play nature of the devices, accompanied by an intuitive mobile app, makes it accessible even to non-technical users. This ease of deployment is frequently compared to other systems like Luma, with Eero often seen as favorable.

  2. Reliable Connectivity: Eero is praised for maintaining reliable Wi-Fi connectivity across various size homes. Users appreciate its effectiveness in delivering a robust mesh network that eliminates the dead zones common with traditional routers and extenders. Testimonials indicate satisfaction with its performance in providing consistent internet access throughout large and complex living spaces.

  3. Integration and Flexibility: The system’s compatibility with other devices and ability to be used in varying configurations (wired, wireless, hybrid mesh) add to its appeal. This adaptability supports Eero’s deployment in different smart home environments and network setups.

  4. Customer Support: In instances where issues arose, Eero's customer support was noted as being responsive and helpful, with customers receiving remote assistance to resolve network problems efficiently.

Criticisms and Areas of Discontent
  1. Refund and Return Process: A notable negative point revolves around Eero’s refund and return policies, which are reportedly cumbersome when purchasing directly from the Eero website. Customer experiences suggest that purchasing through platforms like Amazon may offer a more customer-friendly return process.

  2. Limitations with Eero Secure: Users have expressed frustration regarding the Eero Secure and Secure+ functionalities, specifically in situations involving changes in Internet Service Providers (ISPs) such as MetroNet. These features have been inconsistently functional, leading to dissatisfaction among customers expecting seamless service continuity.

  3. Comparison with Competitors: When benchmarked against competing systems like Asus’s ZenWiFi AX, some users feel that Eero systems have limitations, particularly when it comes to wireless backhaul speeds. The performance discrepancy in the same network setup with differing mesh systems has led some users to prefer alternative products.

  4. Pricing and Availability: Price sensitivity is evident within the community, with some users finding Eero systems to be on the expensive side, especially in international markets. Despite periodic sales and promotions, the cost remains a barrier for certain segments of potential buyers.

Overall, Eero continues to enjoy a positive reputation for delivering easy-to-use, reliable, and flexible mesh WiFi solutions. However, issues related to service policies, product support continuity, and competitive performance persist as areas needing attention to enhance customer satisfaction and market presence.
