Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about Drupal and what they use it for.
  • Is there and easy way of porting a site from d7 to d9?
I would be interested in some good migration tools, paid ones are also ok. I found a post about this on drupal.org, but it didn't seem like an easy process. It is a multilanguage site with many content types, and a totally custom theme. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is there any nice group, where I can ask questions, when I get stuck and recieve some guidance instead of crytics?
You got already good advice, but wanted to point the guide of drupal.org where you can see some tools listed with instructions and channels https://www.drupal.org/community/contributor-guide/reference-information/talk/tools. Source: over 1 year ago
  • MAMP issue after Pro trial ended
There is a service call GitPod that provides a temporary container Drupal environment. If you are familiar with what is going on around the future of how Drupal modules will eventually be offered up, you will likely have seen the "Project Browser" module as a contrib demo of the approach. It is used for people to give feedback to the developers. So they set up the typical 'SimplyTestMe' but also a GitPod... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Best Modules for Product and Recipe?
For reviews, it depends entirely on what you mean by "review". I believe core has a simple comment module, although it may have been deprecated for D9? There are likely many review-style modules on drupal.org that might work, or if you just want to link out to third-party reviews then it could just be a repeating-value link field on the Product content type. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Leadership?
They should also use standards tools like Github. The drupal.org platform was certainly impressive 10 years ago, today it's a pain to use it. They ducktape it with gitlab, but really it sucks to have to read documentation to simply do a pull request. Source: over 1 year ago
  • drupal.org crashed/offline/hacked?
When I go to drupal.org right now, I receive a "403 forbidden" error after being auto-redirected to https://www.drupal.org/install.php. Anyone else seeing this? Source: almost 2 years ago
  • I used to run Adyax, a 350 pax Drupal shop based in France. Today, I think Drupal is dying. Let’s talk. https://medium.com/@maximetopolov/drupal-is-dying-6129b4bd3d22
Although the archive on drupal.org is quite straight forward to install, the composer variant is not a very good first experience for beginners trying to install it the "tech" way. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • The Tale of Dependency Injection in Drupal / DrupalCamp Poland 2021
IMO It is perfectly proper solution, way better than suppressing some PHP inspections (as drupal.org suggests). Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Any resource that goes in depth about module development?
Docs pages on drupal.org can be hit or miss, but I often reference them:. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Does anybody have any idea of why Lumon's logo has a waterdrop?
It resembles the logo for Drupal (drupal.org ) which is a content management system I have worked on a fair bit over the years - not thrilled about that lol. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Update link in group description
The place for news, articles and discussion regarding Drupal, one of the top open source (GPL) CMS platforms powering millions of websites and applications, built, used, and supported by a diverse community of people worldwide. More Info: [Drupal.org](http://drupal.org). Source: about 2 years ago
  • My official resignation for the DA board [Pedro Cambra]
Anyway, a few years ago the DA changed from allowing any registered contributor (basically anyone with a drupal.org account) to vote, to only those who are paid members. Memberships are $15/year, though you can request a free membership if you are both an active contributor to Drupal and cannot afford the fee. Source: about 2 years ago
  • .htaccess and Clean URLs issue in Drupal 9
There are a number of threads over on drupal.org with suggestions on how to fix this issue but none of the solutions have work for me. The main thread with a number of good options in the comments is here: https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/2612160#comment-12953709. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Just a couple "module unsupported" emails this morning... Thanks for giving the managers a panic attack Drupal Security Team :P
Thanks for posting this. I also do see chatter on drupal.org re a patch coming or possibly mods to give other modules like https://www.drupal.org/project/photoswipe an integration more similar to how colorbox works. If someone does pick backup on development of this module I hope they get on Open Collective. I would be happy to contribute some $ to the project as I do for others. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Strange error when Tabs block is on page
Any ideas? I can't find anything on drupal.org about this issue. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Drupal cost or price
It is 100% free to download any of the open source code from drupal.org. There may be 3rd party websites that charge money for modules or themes that work on Drupal. But the core software and its modules are free on drupal.org. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Wordpress to Drupal advice
Make sure you make a drupal.org account, and setup a Docker locally to learn on. This was one of the first things I built in drupal, https://www.ostraining.com/blog/drupal/drupal-8-slick-slideshow/ it's a nice way to learn about fields and views. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Personal Trending / Most viewed Nodes
I am looking for a module like core "statistics" which works based on logged in users. At the end the module should build statistics grouped by user id. Haven't found anything promising on the drupal.org modules page. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Looking to start fresh with Drupal 9, but there is no webform 9.x?
Also, from a technical perspective, the semver and related changes were mostly about drupal.org and not Drupal itself, and as Drupal 9 got closer to release, it was not clear if those things would be ready in time and it wasn't possible to rely on it. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Sell me your drupal.org account for $300 USD in Crypto or PayPal
I need a minimum 8 years old account on drupal.org account to qualify for a job. I have reached to last steps of the interview process and my employed asked me for my account. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Other resources for learning Drupal?
Perhaps just start experimenting, fail, restart, and experiment some more? If you have questions like "how do this or that", I am sure people here or on drupal.org will help you. It is sometimes easier to figure out first what you want to do, and then find the best solution, by trial and error. Source: almost 3 years ago
