Most learning tools hand you someone else's fixed course or a blank chat box. Draft & Arc builds an entire course around your specific goal, your level, and the time you actually have, then re-balances the remaining lessons as you learn. It combines a real syllabus, day-by-day pacing, runnable code, the Feynman technique with AI feedback to catch what didn't stick, and an optional real-time voice tutor, in one loop rather than scattered across separate apps.
Coursera and Udemy give you a one-size-fits-all course you have to browse for. ChatGPT is just a chat window with no structure or memory of your progress. Draft & Arc is the whole learning loop: it turns your goal or your own PDFs into a personalised course, paces it to your daily time, and uses active recall to adjust what comes next. You can tell any course to "go deeper", "more code, less theory", or "go faster" and the plan re-builds around you. Free to start, no credit card.
Self-directed learners: students studying from their own materials, professionals reskilling or learning to code, and anyone who wants to master a specific topic on their own schedule rather than sit through a generic pre-made course.
Draft & Arc started from a simple frustration: existing courses are someone else's path, and AI chatbots have no structure or memory of where you are. We wanted a tool that builds the course you actually need, around your goal and the time you have, and keeps adapting as you learn, the way a good private tutor would.
Python and FastAPI on the backend, MongoDB for data, with large language models from OpenAI and Anthropic (Claude) powering course generation, the Feynman feedback, and the AI tutor. The frontend is built with Astro and React. Document uploads are processed into an embeddings-based retrieval pipeline so courses can be built from your own PDFs and notes.
