  • Hi will there be any official organised protests about the housing crisis?
Even in the best case scenario, its going to take you 15 years for the deposit on the shittiest house on domain.com.au. And need I remind that there are essentially no safety controls afround the quality of apartment builds and as such you're gambling with your life savings by buying one... The warranties can be shorter than a car. Source: 5 months ago
  • Previous sale prices
Is it me or have both onthehouse.com.au and domain.com.au both removed the previous sale prices of properties in the last month or so? Source: 10 months ago
  • Move from UK to Gold Coast
Town houses are cheaper than detached places and often can be found in better suburbs that are closer to the amenities, beaches, shops, etc.. Make sure to check out places on domain.com.au or realestate.com.au to get a good idea. Suburbs like Pacific Pines, Coomera, or Pimpama are all driveable but check Google maps for rush hour commute times - the roads can get choked at rush hour. Source: 10 months ago
  • Selling property yourself
In the age of domain.com.au you guys are are totally redundant ticket clippers and offer absolutely nothing to justify the fees you charge. A few years from now you'll go the way of milkman I'm afraid. (Though at least the milkman didn't charge a $20k commission to pass the product from the vendor to the buyer lol). Source: 10 months ago
  • Any real estate agents providing virtual rental viewings?
Nah, I live in Richmond myself and I've lived in both Brunswick and Moonee Ponds before. They're all in my ongoing domain.com.au property search. Source: 11 months ago
  • Where to begin looking for house.?
I'd say start with realestate.com.au or domain.com.au. Source: 11 months ago
  • How's Nerang as a suburb these days? Still considered "dodgy"?
A quick look on realestate.com.au or domain.com.au shows you there is nowhere cheap anymore and there is a lot of competition for rentals. Source: 12 months ago
  • Should I take this job offer to move from the UK to the Gold Coast?
Also check out Real Estate or Domain and look at rentals on the Gold Coast to get an idea how much you'll need to pay for rent. Source: 12 months ago
  • Investment Plan for $3M from sale of company for FI
If you are financing properties at 80%, where are you getting all the rest of the money to actually live on? Have you been reading too many articles from realestate.com.au and domain.com.au showing how you can drive a Lambo and have lots of properties? Source: 12 months ago
  • Notes from buying a house (Sydney)
Nah. I usually register to bid about ten minutes after the auction has started and just buy it sight unseen. Maybe one day I'll feature in domain.com.au. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Update to my previous post : Need help and advice cant afford rent: 3 kids 2 parents
They already applied for everything affordable from newi , singleton to Cessnock to Thornton on the domain.com.au and realestate.com.au,. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Australian moving to LA - Tips please!
I'm looking at renting in West Hollywood, but am unsure what a good rental website is, in Australia we have domain.com.au , is there an American/Californian equivalent? Source: about 1 year ago
  • Considering a move from the Netherlands to Australia. Anyone made a similar move ?
You can definitely afford to buy a house here however the "move in ready" houses eg brick, 4 bed, 2 bath, sell very quickly for above the listed price. The small timber homes that probably could do with an updated kitchen and bathroom are easy to buy. Check out the sold lists on realestate.com.au or domain.com.au. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Off campus Housing for Exchange Student
Since you say can afford it, realestate.com.au , facebook marketplace and domain.com.au have listings for a lot of properties that update daily. You can apply for as many as possible until you get a proper application for tenancy (it is a bit more difficult when you don't have 2 Australian pay stubs) but its not impossible. Tenancy lasts from 3, 6 and 12 months. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Cost of loving - Worth it?
Compared to LA or San Fran or Bangalore ? For places to rent on your own, check out realestate.com.au or domain.com.au , be aware we default to renting by the week. For a share place I have no idea. Where you live has a big impact, but it probably makes sense to live closest to where you work. Source: about 1 year ago
  • The duality of man. Live in a house for 20 extra bucks or live in a shipping container in someone’s back yard
Care to share where? I had a look at domain.com.au in that price range, but most of what's on there is a lot nicer for those prices... Couldn't find either of these. Source: about 1 year ago
  • No prices on realestate.com.au?
Pretium - Property Value Illuminator extension for Chrome sort of helps with this. It pulls value estimates and displays them alongside a listing on domain.com.au and realestate.com.au . Full disclosure I built it in an effort to try and combat underquoting, and it's still a work in progress. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How much should I make to maintain the same lifestyle
You can start by looking for a place to rent at domain.com.au or similar, and try building yourself a shopping cart at www.woolworths.com.au. Get an idea for your groceries & accommodation and you've got an idea for two of your biggest expenses. Source: over 1 year ago
  • realestate.com.au property history question
Realestate.com.au and other property listing sites, such as domain.com.au, provide info about properties even if they are off the market, including sales history. I assume they acquire info on sales history based on listings that went through their site, as well as automated searches of other sites. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Finding a rental property in Sydney (circa Jan 2023, colourised)
Did you have to offer above the asking price for properties on realestate.com.au, domain.com.au etc in order to secure a lease? Source: over 1 year ago
  • (Moved from r/Australia) How does the cost of living in Australia compare to the U.S.?
For housing, check out domain.com.au or realestate.com.au, most rentals/homes for a sale are on there. You'll get an idea of what housing costs. For Sydney and Melbourne, the rental market is crazy, it's very expensive, lots of people going after not very many properties. Source: over 1 year ago
