  You will die a lot early on, don't worry about that. Tame a pteranadon when you unlock the engram. It will unlock a lot of the map. There's dinos that are better than you at gathering all materials. Tame those too. Use the wiki and dododex.com to learn what you need to know. Both super helpful. Source: over 2 years ago
