directinapp is a smart link tool built for where links are actually tapped: on a phone, inside another app. A normal short link opens in the in-app browser, where visitors are logged out and "Add to cart" or "Follow" often fails. Every directinapp link instead deep-links into the destination's native app (Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, Amazon, Google Maps and more) when it's installed, and falls back to the website when it isn't โ so no one hits a dead end. Each link includes a downloadable QR code and real-time click analytics, plus a link-in-bio page and controls like passwords, expiry dates, and click caps. Free to start; Premium is โน199/month.

Next.js and TypeScript on the front end, a Fastify (Node) API with Postgres behind it, hosted on Cloudflare. Nothing exotic โ the interesting part is the link routing, not the stack.
The annoying moment was watching a link in an Instagram bio open a logged-out mini-browser , no watch history, no saved cart, nothing. People tapped, landed on a stranger's version of the page, and left. So we built a link that just opens the real app instead. The QR codes, analytics and bio page all grew out of that one problem.
Creators, small online sellers and marketers โ mostly in India โ who share links on Instagram, WhatsApp and YouTube. Anyone whose audience lives inside apps on a phone and who's tired of watching taps die in the in-app browser.
Most short links open inside the app's built-in browser, where people are logged out and half the buttons don't work. Ours don't. A directinapp link opens the actual app โ the post in Instagram, the product in Amazon โ and only falls back to the website if the app isn't installed. The same link also comes with a QR code and live click stats. Other shorteners just make the URL shorter; we care about where the tap actually lands.
Bitly shortens links, Linktree gives you a bio page โ you'd need both, and neither opens the native app. directinapp does the app-opening part they don't, plus a QR code, real-time analytics and a bio page, all in one link. It's also cheap: free to start, โน199/month if you want custom slugs and full history. We built it mobile-first because that's where links actually get tapped.
