  • any one know how to emulate a dsi game
Citra is for 3ds games. While it should be compatible with ds games since the physical consoles are, this isn't true of the emulators. http://desmume.org/ has what you need. Source: about 2 years ago

You can download DeSmuME (http://desmume.org/), which is a free Nintendo emulator. Then you wanna search up "Scooby Doo First Frights ROM" in Google, and download it. • How do you guys play?
Emulators 100%, mGBA for GBA games (My Boy for android, sprang for the paid version a while ago and don't regret it), DeSmuME for DS and Citra for 3DS. I do technically still own copies of most DS and 3DS games but I despise nuzlocking on hardware at this point and I tend to play romhacks anyways. I personally wouldn't recommend anything other than GBA games/romhacks for a phone, but maybe someone else has a... Source: over 2 years ago

Hey! So, I use MGBA for gba emulations (it can also run gb and gbc games if that's something you're interested in) and DeSmuMe for ds ones. I don't usually play 3ds games but citra works just fine for that. You can download them all in their official websites: https://mgba.io/ http://desmume.org/ and https://citra-emu.org/. • Ace Attorney Investigations 2 in English
The game has an in-built anti-piracy measure that turns all the dialogue into Borginian (an in-universe made up language, like what Leblanc (Case 2 witness) from the first game used) the patch is supposed to remove this measure but it doesn't work on some emulators for whatever reason. He is! If you don't have a DS emulator I recommend Desmume to get Investigations 2 because the (free) fan translation's the only way to play it in English. But if you didn't play the first AAI you should do that first because a lot of main characters from that come back. Source: almost 4 years ago

Well, all I know about it is that when I've used emulators like DeSmuMe, there's been an option to double the game's speed. I assume it could also be used to slow down time, and that VMs (essentially being an emulator for operating systems) could do either of those too. So running a sentient AI on a VM and multiplying how fast time passes could let them have a massive amount of time to think or work on something,... Source: almost 4 years ago

Summary of the public mentions of DeSmuME

DeSmuME, a prominent Nintendo DS emulator, predominantly attracts favorable public opinion due to its robust features and reliability. It is frequently acknowledged in the gaming and emulator communities for its ease of use and compatibility across various platforms, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. Emphasis on its accessibility is reflected in multiple discussions and articles, which persistently highlight DeSmuME's straightforward setup process and intuitive interface design.

Key Features and Usability:

Users highly regard DeSmuME for providing a commendable gaming experience enhanced by functionalities like save states, cheat codes, and controller support. Such features make it a practical choice for both casual gamers and aspiring speedrunners aiming for tailored experiences. The emulator effectively supports mouse-based interaction as a stylus stand-in, thereby preserving the quintessential dual-screen experience of the original Nintendo DS.

Comparative Standing in the Market:

In comparison to its competitors, such as Citra, melonDS, and RetroArch, DeSmuME holds its ground strongly within the niche of DS emulation. While Citra primarily targets 3DS titles, discussions continue to note that DeSmuME excels in running DS games, offering better reliability for this category. Meanwhile, technologies like melonDS provide alternative options, especially for users seeking higher graphical fidelity, but DeSmuME remains a preferred choice for its simplicity and stable performance.

Community and Legal Considerations:

The community around DeSmuME frequently engages in discussions surrounding ROM legality and accessibility. Recommendations often suggest using the official DeSmuME website to avoid inadvertently downloading malware and emphasize the emulator's legality when used with legitimately owned game copies. Concerns about safety are mitigated by broader acceptance that DeSmuME downloads, mainly sourced from its official webpage, are trustworthy.

Platform Versatility:

Another notable aspect is the emulator's adaptability across systems, most notably its suitability for macOS, alongside more prevalent Windows usage. This cross-platform compatibility bolsters DeSmuME's appeal to a wider demographic, especially Mac users who often face limitations in available emulation software.

Community Feedback and Use Cases:

User feedback highlights diverse applications of the emulator, from nostalgically revisiting childhood favorites to exploring game modifications and fan translations that bring otherwise inaccessible titles to broader audiences. It is also frequently recommended for users interested in experiencing older titles, where acquiring physical copies becomes impractically expensive.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, DeSmuME enjoys substantial positive feedback, positioning itself as a reliable and user-friendly solution in the realm of DS emulation. Its combination of essential gamer-oriented features, multi-platform support, and active community dialogue about ethical usage underpins its persistent popularity. While not surpassing the competition in every technical aspect, DeSmuMEโ€™s offer of a straightforward, effective emulation experience ensures its status as a staple tool for gamers looking to relive or discover DS classics.
