I'm in California - reality is even with this stuff it's hard. I'd say maybe 20% companies you send CCPA request emails to don't know what to do, have broken forms, etc. It does work probably 80% of the time though. On the other hand, since I use FN #1 for everything, no data is linked to my real number. So, if I were to give someone my real number, they can't find any info on me with it. So once I feel comfortable with someone, I plan on giving them my real number. ...however, you never know for sure if you can 100% trust someone until you make them mad, but I don't have to worry about that because giving them my real number... Yeah, a lot of these sites will sell your data, to 3rd parties. If you can avoid using them, do so. If not, I'd encourage you to scower the internet, and various data brokers, getting that info removed. If you don't have the time, or terminology to get that info properly removed, you should be able to use 3rd party services, to get that data removed, on your behalf.
