• On the Origin of Cards: From sketch to finished product

  Deep in the project with no clue what the art would look like or where it was coming from, I stumbled upon a bunch of musician silhouette images on Creative Market. I got lucky – my art strategy up until now was “I’ll worry about it later”, and these images ended up setting the tone for the whole game.   For this one, I made the page layouts (grid, date etc.), the character art, as well as many of the other odds-n-ends. I made the location images, maps etc. In Aseprite and Tiled, with purchased tileset. Assets that I don't make myself are usually purchased from itch.io, etsy.com, or creativemarket.com.   Then I made a brochure with some photos of the property. If you have no design or photography skills you can pay professionals to make a brochure and still come out way ahead compared to using an agent.
