• Anyone know much about how/if NYT (or other outlets) uses data to model puzzle difficulty or predict completion rate?

  I kind of doubt it, but XW stats does try to track this through user input. I suppose someone could try to train a model to compare new puzzles to ones in the database for an estimate of difficulty. Source: about 4 years ago
